Plenty of mirrors and lamps with multiple bulbs, shiny surfaces, and of course, that's assuming you can't paint the walls and ceiling a lighter color.

Make sure you keep your ceiling a bright white, and use a fairly light color (Or more white:) for your walls. Keep your window treatments to a minimum...like just a valance and cascade drapes. If you do that, you can also put up white mini blinds (Light filtering) but when they are raised, the valances keep them from being seen. Maybe consider more lamps, or higher wattage bulbs ~~for night time. I hope this helps, Good Luck!

Large mirrors definitly brighten up dark corner within a space.They enlarge the room and make sure the mirror reflects a nice view

I just painted my dining room, and I have put up Beautiful WHITE, crown molding, around the room, it makes it look bigger, and brighter...
I also have white crown molding in my living room, it sets a room off, and makes it look more open,bigger and brighter...
Use pretty lamps...Glassware, with some spring looking flowers..
I love to decorate...

use bright colors. bright and light accent colors. have a hanging lamp over your bed open your curtains or blinds, corner lamp, table lamp. make it comfy by having a lava lamp. fish tank only if u gonna take good care!!!

USE A LIGHT COLOR ON THE WALLS. THEY ALSO HAVE SUN TUNNELS THAT GO THROUGH THE ROOF. THEY ARE NOT REAL EXPENSIVE, IF YOU OWN YOUR HOME THAT IS.
I'M GOING TO HAVE ONE PUT IN MY CONDO. MIRRORS WILL MAKE IT FEEL LARGER AND SEEMS TO MAKE IT LIGHTER

Is it dark because their is no window or because the walls are painted dark please expand a little on the question.
