or only prove that no God was needed to create life?

I think it will convince many people that God is not real, just like the discovery of evolution did...This is because many people have a God of Gaps meaning they fill God into the things they do not understand (beginning of life, beginning of the universe). As science fills these gaps, God gets smaller. There are other believers, however, that will believe in God no matter what they see or learn.

Funny I was watching a video about something similar in class today. It's one thing to engineer tissue, cartilage, and bone. Engineering whole organs is still something that needs to be perfected, though there has been progress made. However, to engineer an entire organism? That means taking into account a host of variables: organ-organ interactions, accounting for the fact that organs can have more than one function (liver for example detoxes, secretes bile, and hormones), and above all, the nervous system is just beginning to be understood. You need to fully understand what is considered to be the most complex thing in the universe (not an exaggeration, these are the words scientists use to describe the brain and associated parts) and then engineer it and have it be able to adequately control all other processes in the body. Then if you want to create a higher-level organism, you need to account for the consciousness.

Single cell organisms are sort of within reach, but even then, it's a well-orchestrated network of parts. The most we've come up with is creating self-replicating liposomes (which were predecessors to cells).

Things like that just happen spontaneously: conception (fertilization), growth, birth, maturation, reproduction. Large, complex systems created within months...we probably won't be able to do something like that for centuries, if even that.

Therefore, outdoing God is most likely impossible.

It will prove nothing about god, one way or the other. It will not even necessarily show that god was not needed to create life: god could have been meddling in the laboratory at the time, and no one would be able to tell. It can be concluded from all this that a belief in either the existence or non-existence of god can have no real world consequences, and since it is simpler to believe the negative, I do.

That proves that the scientist will be god for that organism. Same as we were created by some god?? :)

I am not saying that god exists as perceived by many, but I don't see that the whole universe, our world and life was created based on probability and without purpose.

Science says that energy can not be created or destroyed but just transformed. If you follow e=mc2, where does the enormous mass of the universe and hence the infinite energy came from? To me that holy energy is god. that gives purpose to the whole universe. Just my perception.

If scientists do create a living organism, they can't use any of God's living things to make it. Otherwise, it is still God in the long run that made this so called new organism. To be fair they must make it out of something brand new, as God did. If they use any of His creation, it is not their's to claim.

Peace!
God may have used the process of evolution to create life. That is the official position of the Catholic Church.
Concerning human evolution, the Church has a more definite teaching. It allows for the possibility that man's body developed from previous biological forms, under God's guidance, but it insists on the special creation of his soul.
Have a great day

No and no.

Humans can and are quite capable of "creating things". However, regardless of what it is. There is some sort of downfall to what we "make".

We built giant cities. However, there is more negative effects caused by cities then positive.

Scientists are already worker on a process of printing new organs for people who might need them. You heard me right. They are printing organisms already. Just not hearts and lungs yet.

Yet this does not change my faith by any stretch. For it has already been said that our knowledge would increase during our last days on earth. Knowledge is the application of what we know. If we know how to make it. One day, we will. But this is only a sign of the times. For me anyways, not to say this is the end though.

The scientists had finally discovered how to create life from the dust of the earth, so they called God to show him how he wasn't needed anymore. When they confronted him and were going to demonstrate how they could do it, they reached down and picked up a handful of dirt to use to create the life. God said, " Hey, Hey, get your own dirt"

I'm waitin',.... God's waitin'!
You heard about the athiest scientist who was gonna disprove God's existence because he could make life out of water and dirt.
So when they set it all up, and he said ,"Voila!" God said--
"Nothin' doin'! Get your OWN dirt!"
Do you really -by any stretch- think they got the slightest chance. Boy does somebody have you jumping through hoops. Even Charles Darwin didn't embrace his own theories at the end of his life, but they'll never tell you that in the school class 'cause they'd have to admit what dorks they were all along for believin' it themselves - let alone printing books with such preposterous fables. Find out how Margaret Mead prefaced her own book on evolution. (And she was an evolutionist!) She said that there's not "ONE IOTA" -tiny shread- "of EVIDENCE to support the theory." Never was and still AIN'T!

To each and all of the commenters, this guy is making an attempt to be well mannered, and a few human beings do incredibly examine that lots. you are able to not ask significant questions in 2 lines of mis-spelled text textile-talk. besides, atheists don't be conscious of God would not exist, yet they think of so, and have various compelling motives to back up their factor. How come books in basic terms began entering existence 4000 years, supposedly, after The earth substitute into made? Did something of time merely not count? All of Christianity's awareness is condensed into one e book, and it incredibly is accessible that the e book is fake. The series of harry potter books is merely as long, in all threat longer, and that may not authentic. The bible could have merely been a fictional e book. yet, through fact the respond on your question, everybody is atheistic specifically through fact they decline to evaluate the different clarification. greater everybody is atheist, so human beings settle for atheism through fact the 'maximum appropriate' theory. maximum folk of atheists don't think in God entirely for the clarification that they have got been suggested like that. despite if, merely through fact they suspect in atheism for each and all of the incorrect motives, it would not advise that they are incorrect. I refuse to assert which ingredient I even have joined, and that i've got tried to coach the two components the two, yet I in all threat failed. Sorry for writing lots, yet i'm beneficial you will not strategies. Your question can't be replied swiftly, through it incredibly is value. so long.
