The honeymoon practice is more related to the wealth and education status of the individual couples than cultural differences.
It's neither new nor tradition really. It's been around since China opens itself to western influences ( about 30 - 40 years ago ) But it's hardly the norm until the recent years because of the general increase of living standards of the average citizens

no, only the corrupt officials can take honeymoons , they always take honeymoons ,the workers have to work all the time
