here they are:

1. Describe the basic device used in both galvanometers and DC electric motors. What additional device does an electric motor have? why is this device necessary?

2.why must an ammeter be connected in series with a circuit? Why must a voltmeter be connected in parallel across a circuit?

thank you so much!!! it really helps!!

1. Both have a coil but a motor has an external field magnet that helps turn the power into motion.

2. An ammeter needs to be in series as it measures Amps, or the flow of current through a circuit. This needs to be measured "through" the meter. A voltmeter measures the change in potential from two points, as such it needs to have two points for comparison.

1. Both galvanometers and DC electric motors contain loops of conductive wire. When electricity passes through the loop, it creates a magnetic field. This magnetic field allows both a galvanometer and DC electric motor to operate.

2. An ammeter measures current, or how much electricity is passing through a part of a circuit. It has a very low resistance to allow essentially all of the current to pass through it so that it can be measured. Therefore, it must be connected in series -- so that the current passes through it. A volt meter measures the voltage difference between two points. It has a very high resistance so that electricity does not flow through it. Therefore, it does not short out the voltage difference. This is why it must be connected in series.

Vedic sciences (ancient Vedic texts thousands of years old) answer all these questions in both Bhaghavad Gita (As It Is) and Srimad Bhaghavatam translated into most languages by Srila Prabhupada during the 70s. As modern western science studies these issues using western based sceintific method and experimentation, many of the modern western theories match the Vedic explanations given in the ancient Vedic slokas.
