God wants us to be nice to people, right?

Commandment six- Thou shalt not murder.

This goes against many conservative opinions.

1. Supporting the war. Or does this commandment only apply to white people? Just because the Iraqis have WMD? Are we the only ones allowed to own it?

2. Supporting the death penalty. It doesn't say, "Thou shalt not murder except it the case of criminals." It just says, "Thou shalt not murder."

3. Against welfare. By not providing money for these people. you may kill them. I thought God wanted us to be generous and kind?

4. Against gun control. Right, guns don't kill, people do. Could the people really kill without a gun?

So how are we liberals the Godless ones?

Do you use clubs and shoes to kill people as often as you use guns? Nope.

Either way you look at it, it is murder. When did "God" say ANYTHING about killing criminals? He said don't commit murder. Period.
God wasn't part of the law. Government made that up. So killing people, even criminals and during war is BAD according to "God."

It's a two-way street. Liberals aren't perfect either. I agree about religion being ridiculously contradictory. Just look at the crusades. I also agree with the gun control comment, "Guns don't kill people, People kill people" is a ridiculous statement. I mean, a Monkey kills people too, if he has a gun.

Anyway, I agree that Conservatives are just as guilty and are often hypocritical in their view on "Godless Liberals" but Liberals are also fairly bad, addressing both groups as a whole.

As for me, I have no religion.

1. War is not murder. Murder is a LEGAL definition of unlawful killing. If a government delcares war, then it is legal and not murder. And yes, we are the only ones allowed to own WMD.

2. Same as number one. Again, murder is an UNLAWFUL killing. Capitol punishment is not unlawful therefor no murder is committed.

3. God does want us to take care of the less fortunate. However, welfare is FORCING one to be generous. I don't want to be FORCED to be generous. Let the charities take care of folks. Then the taking care of them means something and isn't just a duty.

4. "Could the people really kill without a gun?" Okay, you HAVE to be joking, right? Are you going to make illegal knives? clubs? shoes? rope? rat poison? or EVERY OTHER MEANS OF INFLICTING DEATH ON A PERSON?

A gun is a tool. Just as a hammer is a tool. Used properly, no problems. Used improperly, problems.

Responsibility lies with the user, not the tool.

No that is major now to not provide into the temptation of crude idiotic call calling. in spite of if a number of the right are doing it. Fascism is amazingly severe certainly, and it should be incorrect to describe the present day American proper as Fascists. no man or woman is advocating shutting down democracy thoroughly and tearing up all civil rights purely yet. yet yeah. everybody who calls, say Obama, a socialist is both completely ignorant to what socialism skill, or they're being willfully deceptive. he's basically a Reagan neo-liberal with some minor social democracy rules. yet I doubt the loopy proper are extremely interested in accuracy. they purely decide on to throw round what they imagine are scary words.

Regarding the death penalty, doesn't Noah mandate that whomever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed? And Moses (remember who gave us the ten commandments?) also mandated the death penalty for various things, including murder. You seem to be equating the enforcement of justice with the shedding of innocent blood (the Mosaic definition of murder). Go back and read the Bible again.

I wasn't aware that war was prohibited by the bible per se, but you might have a point about Iraq being a mistake.

As for welfare, different people have different opinions as to what may best help end poverty and help people become more self-sufficient in the long run. Just because someone doesn't agree with your program doesn't mean that they don't care about the poor; it simply means that they disagree with you.

I have no biblical passages on gun control, so I see how reasonable people might disagree on how to best curtail violence in our society. Once again, just because someone doesn't agree with your program doesn't mean that they support violence. It simply means that they think that you are not that smart.

False Religion . . .
MEDDLES IN WAR AND POLITICS: “Across Asia and beyond,” says the journal Asiaweek, “power-hungry leaders are cynically manipulating people’s religious sentiments for their own needs.” As a result, the journal warns: “The world threatens to sink into madness.” A prominent religious leader in the United States declared: “You’ve got to kill the terrorists before the killing stops.” His solution? “Blow them all away in the name of the Lord.” By contrast, the Bible says: “If anyone makes the statement: ‘I love God,’ and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar.” (1 John 4:20) Jesus even said: “Continue to love your enemies.” (Matthew 5:44) How many religions can you think of whose members engage in war?

What about the true religion? They stood out during the holocaust...
