I am doing an assignment where I have to create a life for an exile and the person I picked is from Niger. Does anyone know any last names in Africa?

Africa is a very large, very diverse continient. There is no such thing as an "African" last name.

The population of Niger consists of numerous different ethnic groups: Hausa (the largest), Djerma-Songhai, Gourmantche, Fulani, Tuareg, Kanuri, Arabs, and Toubou, so this is more properly asking for Hausa last names. One easy way to get some appropriate last names for residents of a given country would be to look at a list of leaders/persons from that country. Some last names from Niger's history/politics are: Diori, Kountché, Saibou, Tandja, Amadou, and Ousmane.

Remember too that as Nigeriens are (mostly) Muslim and French-speaking, your person may have a French or Francophone Muslim first name
