You need to do two things. First, you need to decrease the amount of food you're feeding them. Give them 2 smaller meals a day and absolutely no people food. If you need to give them treats, give them a couple bites of raw vegetables.
You also need to get them more exercise but you have to do it slowly. Get them out walking every day, but start with very short distances and increase gradually as they're able to go farther - it's just like a person who's out of shape - you need to take it slowly.

best is science diet ID (it's in a can.... ) you only have to give them about half a cup, once or twice a day. it's a prescribed (most of the time) diet by a vet, and we had to get it from the vet's office, but i think they sell it in the stores now. if they liike the dry food, you can mix a bit of science diet kibble in with the can stuff, they love it. But, overall, science diet is the best for maintaining (or managing) weight.

Well I'm a boy but I think on us boys, short hair is actually always better. Long hair doesn't USUALLY show a sign of dominance. An individual see most other guys with lengthy hair that doesn't look like they will can fight. For example there is a boy in my school along with very long blonde hair.

there are going to be lots of conflicting answers on this one! i'd say to feed them 3 times a day, tiny meals. no more treats--replace with bits of baby carrots.

try getting as much exercise for them as possible and if they don't, count the food calories. Try to reduce their calories to match their physical activities ( if they are not active try reducing the calorie intake) and try not to feed them anything extra.
