Depends on what your aims are. Are you planing on staying in or even if not having skills to get a great job when you get out? Want to get married, have kids and a great future? So this all depends.
I wasn't thinking about all of this when I was young. I wanted to blow stuff up and be in the mix so I joined the engineers though my asvab scores could have gotten me anything. Lucky enough I ended up Airborne and then Special Forces, opening up many doors. But few make it there and even if they do translating skills to civilian life can be tough.
No job in the Army is boring as you will be challenged regardless. All jobs have a place. Those who want to be infantry or an MP are a dime a dozen. You may find yourself looked down in these though there are great people who do these MOSs.
My father and step father were in logistics. They did their time and got great jobs after getting out. Everybody, even the SF realizes that logistics is the backbone and the go to guys in the Army.
But if you must go to it and get your tabs. You can change later. All I'm saying is sit down and think about what you want in life and what your goals are. If you can talk to an older military guy who is not your recruiter. They can guide you in this and years later you will appreciate the advice.

One of my best friends is Infantry Airborne. He says it's pretty interesting and you see all kinds of cool stuff. There's a LOT of training, and you train ALL the time. But the downside is that you run the risk of being deployed all the time. My friend left for Iraq in July of last year and they came home a couple days before Christmas under the impression that they were going to be home for 6 months. They got a call on Dec 31 saying they had to be back no later than 5 am the next morning and left again on Jan 7. When they get done with that, they are going back to Afghanistan in June. So it's a lot, but if you can handle it, it's awesome from what I hear.

Here's what you might NOT know about the Military Police - 1) If you're wanting to be an MP to be a cop, find something else...We don't really do a lot of cop work, honestly. Granted, yeah, we do a good chunk of it, but it's slowly getting taken over by DA Police (Civilians)..What we DO do, however, is have mixed-sex units, more firepower than an infantry unit of comparable size, and kick *** and take names during combat or deployment with the best of them. Plus we get the M1117 'Guardian' ASV...Which is, like, the coolest tactical vehicle ever. Weighs 16 tons, shitloads of armor, Mk. 19 and M2 in the turret, and I've seen the damned things go almost 100mph on open road.
Plus, if you're deployed, you get a pistol, along with your rifle...So you can leave your rifle in your can/tent and wander around the FOB with your pistol...May not sound like much, but if you're aiming to be deployed, that's a very convienant bonus.
Plus...As one of those jobs, either of them, do NOT! I SAY AGAIN, DO *********NOT********** sign up for no bonus, 5 years, and some high-demand MOS like 31B or 11B.
You can get five, eight, ten grand, easy, for three to five years. EASY. If your recruiter tells you he can't get you a bonus, he's a fuc*ing LIAR!! - Those are two of the most needed MOS's in the Army right now.
Plus, as an MP, or as any MOS, you can still go to Airborne school...Just make sure you get it in your contract.

Try http://www.treasuretrooper.com/195006... , and here is a great site to help you make lots of money in a short time.
How it Works
Ok, So here is a run down of how Treasure Trooper Works.
As we all know Telemarketers by law are not allowed to contact us anymore. Now they have developed sites that you sign up for and you simple just take surveys and complete offers in order to get paid for your time.
Here is an example of what an offer looks like.
Lexus RX (New!) Take the survey. $1.00
You just simple do what it says. You take the survey and then click "Done". After that the offer will go into your pending funds. When the company verifies that you have completed the offer it will then go into your approved funds and you receive the money.
Mabutu's Hut
Now for the fun part. This is what makes Treasure Trooper stand out from the rest.
You can actually play a side game with the site.
When you complete an offer and click "Done" you will automatically be given a gold cluster. Then after that you can play the side game. The side game will display 3 clams. You simple just click on one and hope that you find the pearl.
After you start your collection of gold clusters and pearls you can go into Mabutu's Hut and trade them in for Prizes.
Prizes for Gold Clusters
The Ruby
Treasure map pieces (4 pieces)
Trooper's Journal (6 pieces)
Mabutu's Secret
Treasure Hunt Tickets
Treasure Trooper Journal
Free mousepad
Free Bumper Sticker
The map pieces, journal, and hunt ticket will help you in the future when the site holds contest.
Prizes for Pearls
Pearl Bracelet
The pearl bracelet is the only prize you can get with these but its also the best prize the site gives away.
With referrals members can earn 20% of what 1st level referrals make and 10% of what 2nd level referrals make. This adds up quick. So far this month I have made about $40.00 from what my referrals have done with the site. If you find yourself having trouble getting referrals then just purchase the pearl bracelet. This item will give you 2 referrals. So when someone signs up but didnt register under another member they automatically become yours and you start earning money off of what they do with the site.

A lot depends on whether you plan to make it a career or not.
The Army provides good training that you can translate to a civilian job.
Talk to a recruiter about your interests. They'll also likely need you to take an "aptitude" test that can "qualify you" for certain fields.
Many MP's end up in civilian police work. Airborne doesn't have a real correlation in civilian life.

Sorry dude I was in the Air force and all of them have their boring parts. My advice for something not boring is one of the special forces. I worked with Security Forces(The Air Force equivalent of Military Police) and most of it is boring. Granted it was a 1000 better than the desk job I was doing. Become a ranger or green-beret if you think you can handle it.

To answer this question, you must first answer this one:
What do YOU like to do? Do you like to shoot things? Do you like fixing things? Creating things? Saving things? Working on computers? Hunting? You like it....list it down. Once you figure that out, then people can assist you in finding jobs you would consider "fun."
There are a million jobs that you could find fun but if you don't define what it is you enjoy personally, you probably won't find it.
Just as a side note, the people that get stuck with boring jobs are the one who don't define what they enjoy.
I hope that helps get you started in your search....

One thing that might help is an Army Career Explorer, you answer questions and it tries to show you jobs that fit you. Link Below
http://www.goarmy.com/ArmyCareerExplorer.do
Your best bet is to talk to military members actually doing the jobs you are interested in. Almost every job in the army has "boring" times

You should talk to your recruiter about becoming a Chief Warrant Officer. They get paid well, they are respected and they dont have to put up with as much BS as the rest of the Army. Their jobs range from suppy (boring) to flying helicopters (not boring).
