Pollution really means the introduction into the world we live of much higher concentrations of anything than would normally be there. It can be anything from pop cans, plastics, diapers, mercury, carbon dioxide, plutonium or most anything else. Everything is natural, in that it comes from nature somehow. But, if you take mercury for example, and dump it into the water in rivers or oceans where it does not occur in these amounts, you upset the balance of that environment, and poison the life that lives there, toxifying the the life or food chain. This starts a chain reaction, as the entire planet is all interconnected, and soon the fish are poisoned, and the people who eat them are poisoned, and the women who breast feed their babies poison them, etc. Before we knew better, humans used to throw their human waste out the window, or dump it into the stream that flowed by, and thought no more about it. As we got smarter, we found that we were making each other sick by doing this. Modern science is showing us that there is no "safely dumping waste downstream" for anything we use, that we need to understand and consider the consequences of all of our group behaviors, as they will effect the rest of the world in some way. Too much of anything is usually never a good thing.

all pollution is environmental. humans are deeply connected to their environment, no matter how much technology we've got. Any pollutant (see the EPA.gov website for a definition) alters the environment and affects the organisms that live in it.
water pollution
soil pollution
air pollution
noise pollution

these are just examples

Yeah you kinda got the concept, staring / making eye contact with a girl doesn't mean the guy likes her. In MY perspective, it can mean three things: 1. The guy is comfortable talking to the girl, and is comfortable with her presence around (just friends). I plenty of friends that are girls and I always make eye contact when I talk to them, it's just casual u kno? 2. The guy wants to meet the girl / is interested in her (acquaintance). Either that, or... the girl is weird-looking or ugly lol. But still, guys wouldn't stare at a girl that long if she's like that. 3. The guy likes the girl. He doesn't know how to express his feelings, but wishes he could find a way to do so. I would tell you straight up how to tell which one of these views does a guy mean when he makes eye contact or stares, but I don't think I can. You should just.. kinda sense it. Good luck, you'll be more familiar with it along the way haha. Hope this helped ;)
