I know some of you guys are going to argue about charity and all that sweet stuff. But please give it a thought.
Let's take charity for example. No matter how many thousands of dollars you donate, no matter how many clothes you send in, a part of the reason to why you do those things is so you sleep better at night, improve your self esteem, or to look good on your college resume. Perhaps even more, to get your own butt into heaven.
And then there's the politicians. Notice how every U.S. president so far has been a Christian male? It sure is hard to get people's votes if you aren't religious isn't it...so they claim to be a "god fearing man", thereby winning votes.
Going even further back into history: face it. Almost every European ruler/emperor/king has used Christianity to booster his own wealth/ power. They called it the "Divine Right," claiming that the royal were only a rank below god. Divine right my a**. I doubt even the christians of today would believe that claim...

It's called the fall of man. We are not perfect. And I'm not trying to make excused for ancient Europe and especially not our presidents, but I ask you not to write off some of this worlds most amazing people, who didn't do "charity" for themselves. Try mother Theresa, and the thousands upon thousands of people who have been martyred for their extreme faith in the One True God. No doubt it's abused, but that doesn't mean that God isn't real. Look into it for yourself, don't make your opinion based on a bunch of rich people who take advantage of you and I.

What if the one god is doing a bad job? Why not have many like the US government. The checks and balances system of the three branches could help keep the universe on track. One can be the executive god, then others can be elected into the legislative branch to write the laws of the universe, and then separate judiciary gods to determine if you have violated the laws. To have a chance at reelection, god would cut down on earthquakes and childhood diseases.

Being good does not get you into heaven.
The work of the saviour Jesus Christ who went to the cross as our substitute is the only way.
We were all unbelievers at some time and as Christians we still have a sin nature which rears its ugly head quite often.
I for one would not just vote on the basis of Christianity.
If the man has integrity ,strength of character, not easily swayed by votes and does not get caught up in muck raking, and has strong strategies and tactics worked out I will vote for him.
Take care!

Eh, I help those in need because it's the right thing to do. No hell in my religion so it's not fear/reward based.
And in reality there have been US Presidents who were not Christians. John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Millard Fillmore and William Howard Taft were not Christian.

Yes. I've realized. I didn't like organized religion before I was an atheist and I dislike it all the same now.

Monotheism is natural progression along the lines of "my god will kick you god's ***!" by saying that my god is the only one that exists.
