Hate it. Sorry. Thats my mother-in-law's name and she was a *****. My ex-husband made me give "Marion" to our daughter as her middle name (after his mother died) and I have regretted it ever since. I HATE telling people that my daughter's middle name is MARION.
There is so many other pretty names out there for baby girls - have a re-think! Good luck to you!

It's kind of old fashioned and it makes me think of Librarians and Maids (from The Music Man and Robin Hood fame). Alternate spelling of Marian seems a little more feminine and modern? You could always call her Mari for short. Keep trying it on your beau. Sometimes it just needs to grow on you!

I think Marion may sound a little stiff... I think because it sounds like Librarian.
How about Marie? Or Julia? Or... dare I say... Lisa?
