Wow, is it hard to date when you work full time, are 40, and have a two year old Son. How do the rest of you single parents find people to date? Or, where would be a good place as a single parent to go to meet other single parents, in a kid friendly enviroment?

To be entirely honest... don't try to get a girl friend right now. I'm not saying that you can' but I'm saying that if you're a single dad that means that him not having a mother didn't happen to long ago. so let him be your primary focus. these years are so vital for who he will become so devote yourself to raising him right. many times little kids get really confused and feel neglected when your full attention isn't on them. I'm not sure if it might be worse when he gets older but when he's old enough you can explaiin it to him. It's just something to consider. My mom's a single mom and I know if she dated I would probably be a mess and probably think that doing a lot of bad things were ok because of it. But because she didn't I see that I can survive without hanging on a man's shoulder which is important for kids to see. anyways I'm sure you'll make the right decision but thing for the future.

I am engaged to a single dad. We met through a mutual friend who said we were perfect for each other and he was sick of watching both of us sit home and being misrerable. When he finally got up the nerve to call me and ask me out he couldn't go when I wanted to because he had his daughter. he won my heart at that moment, we went out a few days later and have been together ever since

Try going to a play group in your city/town, with your son. theres lots of single women and they're usually there to meet people.
