The only way to know is to read the Bible. Empiricism, Rationalism and Mysticism won't ever get you any answers. Only God's revelation in the Bible can give you the information that you want. Read John Chapter 3 in the New Testament especially verse 16. Believe in Jesus Christ that He paid the penalty for your sins and then God will open your eyes to the truth.
The idea that you can get the information on a personal basis is an error. That is subjectivity.

Dear Unforgettable, I have to point out a few flaws in your argument. Number one, I would like to point out the common flaw of reletivism. there is a right and a wrong, all religions cannot lead to the same place. If it were true that all religions are fine, what you belive is your truth, then explain why all the religions and there "god" contradict each other? Please, lets Just review three worldveiws. Buddhism is a panthesitc worldveiw with no personal God, and teaches that you can reach godliness on his own. islam teaches that Jesus was only a prophet, that one reachess godliness by adhering to the five pillars and praying five times a day. Christinanity teaches that Jesus is the only way, he died and payed the penalty for your sins. Now, these religions cannot all be true, they condtradict each other. truth does not contradict itself! this is positve proof that even in the realm of religion and spirituality there is a right and a wrong. therefore your asserstion that there realy is no truth, only ideas of different people is false. Therefore, if someone is beliving something that is false and that could put them in danger, the only moral thing to do is warn them. If I saw a blind man wandering toward a cliff, my first reaction would be to warn him, any attempt to ignore the issue and allow him to remain in danger is called deprived indifference. So, How do we know which religion is right?
Your made an assertion that whatever you belive or "feel" is right, is enough. Its not what other belive its what you feel is right. But This is a incorrect way to attain truth. havent your feelings and notions been wrong? Absolutly! Not oly that, but if that were true, it would lead to anarchy! Honestly, would you trust a religion that said t was ok to lie cheat and steal? Obviously not. So, How do we determine which is right? In reality No religion is right. Religion is mans futile efforts to reach God. The Christian dosent strive to find peace with God. It was given to him in the savior Jesus Christ. The Complete uniqeness of Jesus of nazareth was his statement "the son of man has power on earth to forgive sins" No leader of any "religon" has made that claim and no religion of man can do that. Christianity is not a manmade religon, but a personal relationship with the one true God.
God Bless

Looks like you don't care for any answer, but I will toss one out, anyway.
You decompose. If you believe the Bible, your soul dies with your body and the Spirit of Life, which we share with all living things, neither being greater than the other, fades. What you were in life, based on the true sense of your heart and not just what you profess to be, is either recorded, or not, in the Book of Life.
Since there is nothing left, nothing goes to Heaven. At least not until after the resurrection just like it was with Christ. Of course if you are better than Christ, than perhaps you get a free ride.
If you are Born Again of the Holy Spirit, than upon your resurrection, you receive a Spiritual body, just like Christ, into which all the data recorded in the Book of Life is downloaded and you ascend.
If you are not Born Again, but are of the “Other Sheep not of this fold”, than you take part in the Second Resurrection of Revelations, whereby you receive a perfect human body, like Adam or Christ, into which all the data in the Book of Life is downloaded. This is similar to what Christ experienced when he was baptized and gained the knowledge of his pre-existence.
If you are not entered into the Book of Life, you still get resurrected, if only briefly, to receive your declaration of judgement, just like the fallen angels. There after, you cease to exist, even in the minds of those living from your time.

you would be seen an agnostic (possibly somewhat leaning in the direction of atheism). As an agnostic you detect it confusing to have self belief the two area without data. Its humorous by using fact the two sides have self belief in faith that their view is the spectacular one. An atheist will factor at a rotting corpse and say thats all that occurs, yet you pronounced souls and that they won't in any respect instruct you dont have one. And as a Mick Catholic I have no data that a soul is going to heaven or hell. I agree that arguement is pointless interior the experience of springing up with an easy actuality, yet there replaced into in all risk a evaluate having the verbal replace, yet you will might desire to ask your instructor what that replaced into.

And I guess that is your opinion, but that doesn't make your statement true. The answers to that issue and more is in the Bible, God's Word.
Ecclesiastes 9:5: "5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."
Ecclesiastes 3:19-20: "19 For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust."
Psalms 146: 3 & 4: "Do not put YOUR trust in nobles,
Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground;
In that day his thoughts do perish."
Looks like when we die we cease to exist. However, we have this hope, that we will be resurrected to life (not necessarily heavenly life) in the last days...
John 5: 28 & 29: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."
Acts 24: 15: "and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."
God said:
Proverbs 3: 5: "Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. 6 In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight."
You say that this is a personal choice, but wouldn't it be better to really see if there is an answer to this question.
Proverbs 2: 1-6, 10-11: "My son, if you will receive my sayings and treasure up my own commandments with yourself, 2 so as to pay attention to wisdom with your ear, that you may incline your heart to discernment; 3 if, moreover, you call out for understanding itself and you give forth your voice for discernment itself, 4 if you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keep searching for it, 5 in that case you will understand the fear of Jehovah, and you will find the very knowledge of God. 6 For Jehovah himself gives wisdom; out of his mouth there are knowledge and discernment. 10 When wisdom enters into your heart and knowledge itself becomes pleasant to your very soul, 11 thinking ability itself will keep guard over you, discernment itself will safeguard you,"

Huh? What do you mean nobody knows??? As a matter of fact EVERY SINGLE PERSON had the experience of not being alive (before they were born). There is no logical reason to believe that your experience after death should be any different.

You are already convinced of your own question. The bible says after death is judgement. There are people who has clinically died and came back. They are similar stories. They verify what the bible states; there is judgement after death.

I want you to pray and ask God to give you a revelation on what happenes to you when you die! Why don't you just take a chance and ask him...I pray that he give you a dream and let you know what to expect....although he left the bible for you with all the info in it.....Ask and it shall be given unto you :)

Obviously you can believe whatever you want to. However, The Almighty went to considerable trouble to explain to us how it works. After death, there is sleep until the resurrection, either to life, or to final destruction.
