You have to get a social security card and number, it is mandatory. You also need to get a sheriff's card. You have to be registered w/local police.

If you are legally here on an F-1 student visa, request hardship permission to work. With permission, you can get the SSN and find a job. (Under the Visa, you were supposed to already have enough financial support that you wouldn't need a job.) If you are here illegally, there is nothing you can do.

Not in Nevada. In Nevada to work in a casino you have to have a gaming card. That involves a back ground check including use of the Social Security Number. No gaming card, no work in the casino.

Maybe not if you work in Macau, but if you work in the US you need one.

That is unless you are doing construction in a casino under a General Contractor.

Check to see what the requirements are on the Indian reservations. They are considered independent nations, but you may still need to get a SS card.

sure, make gambling you job. but if you don't already have an SS number it means you are probably here illegally. if you apply for a number you are going to sit in Clark county lock up until the INS sends you packing.
