The sooner you do it, the better you'll feel. Otherwise you'll be spending your evenings on Yahoo! Answers asking us what you should do. :P It really doesn't matter how you do it if he feels the same, and if he doesn't, at least you took the initiative and did something bold. If nothing else, he should be flattered that someone thinks the world of him.
