My boyfriend and I have been dating long distance for 6 months. I live in VA and he lives in SC and we could see each other once a month. Now he is in college (I am too) and it's his first time and it's in TN so it's farther away. The other night we got in an argument (we usually fight about little things) and he said maybe we should break up. But then later he said "well I don't know, I'm just confused" and he keeps saying he has to concentrate cuz he's never had to do so much at once (he was really lazy before). I said I haven't been bothering you and he said yea I just have to focus on me now. But, he said he's still coming for Valentine's Day and he still says I love you at the end of our conversations. I'm just confused about what he really wants? Maybe just space I guess but then why would he still act the same way

do you think if I told him I'll give him space and then not talk to him at all for several days then that would be good? we went on a break one time and I didn't talk to him for 2 days and he went crazy and said he missed me too much and wanted to be with me

Honey people have a hard enough time keeping a relationship when they live in the same town. You both are going in two different directions. It's not going to last you are too far away from each other. You both are going to meet new people experence new things. I would part friends keep in contact with each other but neither one of you can expect the other to be faithful that far away. It just doesn't work that way sorry to say. Good luck.

I think he has too much space. It seems like he wants a girlfriend who's in the same place so he can go out, have fun, share life with her, and relax. Phone calls and emails are tiresome. After a long day or week in class, studying, who wants to just talk on the phone? Humans need contact, touch, laughter, hugs. He can't meet you for a cup of coffee without major travel plans.... and you're fighting about stupid things all the itme.

Well I was dating a guy that lived in SC and I and AR and he went into the army and all that and he started acting weird and after I waited on him for 7 months to get back he just broke up with me. So my advice to you is if it doesn't get better whenever he comes home to visit there is no point in waiting around to just get hurt. Sit down have a good converstation with him and try to clear things up and do what you think is right. Because trust me if you wait for him and then yall break up you will think it is a total waste.

Just accept his studying habbits and once he gets everything straightened out with school, then you guy can spend more time together. But for now, just give him time and i'm sure he will return to his normal self.
