Not Latin. It means "carbon copy" and originates from the days when copies of correspondence were produced using carbon paper in typewriters.

Oh infant, must be nice to be young and oblivious.
It isn't Latin
Never was Latin.
CC means Carbon Copy.
Way back in history when dinosaurs roamed free, there was a magical substance called "carbon paper". In effect you would be filling out forms which had 3 sheets per form. The top sheet was the form, the middle sheet was carbon paper, the bottom sheet was the same as the top sheet. The carbon paper would transfer what you printed on the first page to the last page. The last page would get filed for future reference.
