Ok, I did this like a month ago. I didn't bleach my hair first and only ended up with a highlight for about 2 weeks. It was very hard to notice. I started with medium brown hair and used blue dye.
Heres what I did...

Steps
Mix two packs of unsweetened Kool-Aid with lots of conditioner, in order to make a pasty mix.
Dampen your hair.
Apply mixture to your head.
If you're doing tips or highlights, use a highlighting wand and wrap the dyed sections in tinfoil.
Leave it in for 12 hours if you have dark hair, or 6 hours if you have blonde hair.
Rinse out when you are done, and voila!

Tips
To avoid getting the dye on your pillow, wrap your head in plastic wrap, then cover your head with an old ragged towel.
If you don't like the results, the quickest way to get it out is with toothpaste or super hot water.
Be patient! Some people think that this could damage your hair, but you are letting conditioner sit in your hair for 8 hours (average). Also make sure you use 2 packs of Kool-Aid, or it will not work.

Warnings
Make sure you use unsweetened Kool-Aid. Anything else and your hair will be a mess.
This can damage your hair.

Things You'll Need
Gloves
Small mixing bowl
Conditioner
2 packets of unsweetened Kool-Aid
Highlighting wand (for highlights, but if you don't have one try a pipe cleaner)
Tin foil/plastic wrap
Vaseline, to put on the edges of your face so it doesn't get dyed too.

we used to do it a lot when we were little (me and my little bro) it does work some, but it mostly just dyes you scalp. all you do is get your hair wet, and rub a pack of kool-aid through it. it stains you hands really bad, so it does your hair some too. if you have light hair it will show up better. we always used green.
let it dry in the sun.

You can dye your hair with kool-aid, but let me let you know that if you are a blonde, your hair will turn pink, green, etc and stay. I am a hairstylist and a friend of mine tried that and couldn't get the stuff out of her hair. Please be safe when doing it. hOpe you choose not to, but good luck.

no no no, it does work, but thats like dying your whole head, including your skin. If your looking for long lasting color, Revlon and Cover girl put out 3 dollor boxes that work great. However if u want a wild color like pink or purple, u might have to get the color gel or get it done at a hair place

This only works if you are blonde and then it's only all koolaid coloured for a few washes, after that it gets all gray and dingy. Anyway a friend of mine has dyed her hair with bingo dobbers before and it lasted a heck of a lot longer than the koolaid.

PLLLLLLLLLLEASE don't. Think about it, do you want to color your hair with sugar? Plus it doesn't seem like it would work, unless your were blonde, and then it seems like it would be sticky and smell like Kool-Aid and wash out after one shower (or sweaty day, ick!)

If you want to dye your hair, I reccomend Natural Instincts. They don't fade to bassiness, and don't wreck your hair. They are also natural looking.

WWWHHAT?!?! lmao stfu. thats so stupid. im sorry but i would NEVER do that. and i higly recommend that you shouldnt do it either. just go buy some real hair color or go to a salon. actually, i never liked using box hair color from the drug store. i go to sallys or some stores that sell proffesional hair color. they work better but u have to know what volumes and so on u need to get. its kinda hard if u have no clue what ur doing but since i took cosmotology im good. ^_^ ahh bottom line. dont use koolaid. thats just retarded. xD
