My engagement ring has one center stone and six smaller stones. I won't get a band. It would be too much on my hand.

My "promise" ring that I reiceved has a blue saphire with diamonds on either side. Then I got the engagement ring and that's a diamond with 2 smaller ones on either side. I told him I would be happy with just the promise ring as the engagement ring as it's a very beatiful ring but he wanted to go for an engaement ring to. So the promise ring got moved to my right hand.

Only in America do brides get diamonds. In other countries they get different stones, if they get an engagement ring at all. In Europe the stones are usually Emeralds or Sapphires.

Im not much of a stoner lol, I have a white gold wedding band, no stone. I told my husband that I didnt want anything crazy, only an engravement inside the ring. That for me is the most valuable thing on a ring. Hes not the expressive type and uncomfortable with words so this was a big deal. He put "In this ring you hold my heart". I love it! For me, thats more valuable than a stone.

Mine has a diamond but I have seen many rings with other stones. They are still just as beautiful, I think it all goes to what you like best.

I would have loved an opal or something like that Im not a gold and diamonds kinda gal, but he got me one with a little diamond in the middle and a few leading to the bands on both sides, I do like it because its not too flashy and like I said I dont like diamonds so it was just right

I chose a 3 stone diamond for my wedding/engagement ring, but my mother, who is also engaged, chose a sapphire center stone flanked by small diamonds (this is her 2nd wedding)

I have never been a diamond fan, my b/f had a ring made for me, it is a white gold band, it's eternity style and set with 6 fire opals, they are beautiful stones and I adore my ring.
