Any loving dog that needs a home. Mutts and rescue dogs are the best! There's no need to pay for a dog with papers when you can find a perfectly healthy, loving dog at the Humane Society.

Any I see in a rescue centre! I tend to rescue German Shepherds but if I fall for a dog its breed, cross-breeding or mongrel status doesn't matter. I'd just do the necessary reading for the breed I had if I haven't already!
All my dogs are 'rescued' and over 50 years thats quite a few! A lot of joy and heartbreak and everyone was Beautiful to me.

My favorite dog has always been a Golden Retriever. Ever since I was a little boy I always wanted one. Finally, I was able to adopt a stray, named Theodore.
We have been best friends since. He is the most loveable and sweet dog in the world. Theordore is great with kids, even my nephew with cerebral palsy!

I'm a sucker for big dogs. And when I say big, I mean BIG! Great Danes, Great Pyrenees, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Newfoundlands, Old English Sheepdogs... you name it!
But my absolute favorite is the Irish Wolfhound. They're freakin' giganta-mous! They average up to 34 inches at the withers (shoulders). They're an ancient breed that was originally used for hunting deer, boar and wolves as well as in war. (Yes, I'm a little obsessed :-) ) They're supposed have very sweet and gentle personalities.
Hopefully one day I can have two, one gray and one black. I would give them really old school Irish names, like Cuchulain.

All dogs have their strong points and their weak points, even within a certain breed. In my eyes, its the dog themselves that is great, not the breed/s.
