I hate to break it to you love, but it's really rather unrealistic. When I was in school, I saw many relationships between 2, 3, or 4 grade differences. 2 years doesn't seem to make that huge of a difference, but 4 is a bit much at your age. You didn't specify your or his ages, but even if you were 14 and him 18, which is the oldest for school.. You are in two different worlds.
Think about it. If you're hoping it will last, when he graduates, he will go off to college, or work full time, and you will be in high school while he is doing all of that. Do you really believe it will work?
Also, might I add that a lot of times, when guys go for that young of a girl compared to them, doesn't it make you wonder why they can't find someone closer to their own age?
If this is really what you want, I suppose you could bring it up to him. But the 4 year age difference just might be too much of a taboo for him to handle.

You are going to be amazed at how NOT important age is as you get older. It usually happens once you get out of college and realize that 4 years is nothing. you start sweating the age diff when it's like 20 years. Plus as you get older you will probably turn around and like younger guys and when you are younger you will find that you are attracted to older guys since they finally are at your maturity level since women become mature mentally faster then men. When we are between 18 and 25 we aren't to smart sometimes. Lots of fun but just not too smart. I would say if you like this guy and he likes you then let him know but also protect yourself from him trying to take advantage of you.
P.S. Please do not confuse Love with Lust
Thinking about it I wanted to put another 2 cents in. High schooler with high schooler, middle school with middle school. Collage Student with Collage Student. Then after that all bets are off if they are at least 18 years and older

It would depend on what grades you are in and your ages. Grade School, High School Stay only friends 4 years are to many years between you. College? Maybe.

You guys are only four years apart of each other, I personally don't feel that is THAT MUCH of a difference. There are couples out there who are 20 or more years apart of each other, so that shouldn't be too big a concern. But I guess if he doesn't feel comfortable about it, you just have to give him time and space. Try to make him understand that it is not a concern with you at all and hopefully he'll slowly understands.
Good luck with everything.

If you really like him 4 years shouldn't make a difference. My boyfriend's 9 years older than me.

Well except when someone is uncomfortable about it, there's nothing wrong with that age difference or one like it- and in most cases nobody's uncomfrotable about it. But he is, and so he either prefers women who are 1 or 2 years younger, or he prefers women who are older. Talk to him about it, but avoid him when the conversation is done, if you can't win.

Age does matter when you are under 18.
If he is on th verge of being 18, and you are only 14, then he is too old for you.
You should have boyfriends or interests your own age.. 14.

Too Many Years since you are still in school. After you become an adult 4 years is ok... You and him are on different levels right now... He wants sex and you're too young to consider it.
Yes...he does even if you don't believe it.
