I don't know how many times I've answered this question it' posted at least once a week. I could go into detail and give the house edge of all games available but I won't so here's a quick breakdown:
The best game for the punter is the bank bet on Punto Banco if your American you will call this game Baccarat but you won't be right.
Next is Craps closely followed by Blackjack if you know how to play basic strategy.
In a casino there is only generally one variable % game on offer that is Blackjack unless there is Baccarat on offer. Sorry can't help you with the Supper Bowl.
There are a few people that have posted on here that don't know what they are talking about.

Actually yes, it is possible to win at gambling. It happens quite frequently. Unfortunately it's not LIKELY that you'll win gambling, and the longer you do it the more likely you are to end up a loser. Casinos make their money because they're in it for the long haul. They see so many hands dealt, so many dice rolled, and so many wheels spun that the number of times any given result occurs will, to them, approach the bell curve it's supposed to. And that's pretty much the same for the bets. How they make their money is with a "house advantage", an offset of payoff to that bell curve. Take craps. At any time you can bet that the next roll will be a seven. This pays 4:1 (5:1 in some casinos). But the actual odds of it happening are 6:1! So the odds say that if you bet it six times you'll hit it once, and get paid back 4 (or 5). The difference between the odds of something happening and the payoff if it does is what makes the casinos their money. Mathematics and probability are implacable foes. Their is ONE bet in Vegas that has zero house advantage: the odds bet on the pass line in craps. But you have to make a pass line bet to lay the odds bet. Either way, if you find a casino that offers 100X odds on craps, and you always lay full odds, the house advantage shrinks to less than 1%. And when people say there is no house advantage in poker they're not seeing the whole truth. The advantage in poker is the rake, but it's only really paid by the winner of each hand. The rake is like a fee to play, and at small stakes tables it is a surprisingly high percentage of each pot. Some say only the winner plays the rake, but at a $1/$2 table with a $50 buy in the equivalent of one player an hour will bust out solely on the rake. If the casino is doing it, you know they're making money on it. Oh, and don't bet on the SuperBowl. It could go any way this year.

I work in the gaming industry, and believe me- this sounds like the beginnings of an unholy HUGE gambling problem! People are not born with a gambling addiction, it takes the positive reinforcement that winning provides to pull you in.. It seems so easy to win yes? 49 out of 50 as you say seemed to require very little effort- just betting on the favorites. The problem is that after the favorites don't win for a few weeks, most people will think 'oh that was just unlucky, i'll win again next time..', this often leads a to a circular pattern where people bet more in the assumption that they will win their losses back. Gambling can be fun but the worst thing you can do is win the first time you play- that is the hook. PS- the previous answer is a joke- Top class poker players have a myriad of skills but gambling is not one of them, if you were to refer to any top-flight poker pro as a 'professional gambler' they would take it as an insult; There is gambling involved in poker but the nuance is that you effectively choose your own odds- you only gamble your money when the odds are on your side. You may think you are doing this by betting on the favorites, but believe me the odds the bookies pay you do not represent favorable or at least 'true' odds on the outcomes involved. I hope u read all this claptrap and it gives you something to think about, keep gambling, but see it as fun- NOT a source of income.. Mike

Like you said, Las Vegas wasn't built on winners...unless you own a Casino.
All gamblers who play need to realize the odds are not in their favor. That's not to say you can't win, it's just easier to lose.
Roulette pays out 35-1 on a correct number. That's a good payout, if you hit. But the house has 36-1 odds against the players.
As far as the Super Bowl goes forget about the handicapping and pre-game speculation. Bottom line is you have a 50/50 shot at picking the winner.

For a table game, craps is really the ony one where you can get the odds slightly in your favor. Blackjack is a close second. I for one don't play anything but poker, and if you get good at it, you can make a very goodd living off of that.
And, if you're gong to bet big $$ on the Super Bowl, either have a lot of disposable income or be a professional sports handicapper! :-)

Don't waste time playing the game, if you want to have chance at winning you have to play the other players. Poker where the house is not playing is my choice. I like draw but Texas Hold'um is popular.
I don't play Black Jack, the house has a dog in that fight, and I am convinced that anytime the house is playing they are winning. That includes Roulette, Craps and the one armed bandits. They are great for entertainment but gambling is hard work if you play to win. And that's because everyone else at the table is doing the same thing.

If you play with the casinos money as shown on this site http://bestfreecasinochips.tripod.com you have nothing to lose. If you decide to deposit your own money most casinos online will give you a matching bonus or something in return. In my opinion you have a better chance of winning from gambling online because of the bonuses they give you.

depending on how many decks and how well you can count and understand the mechanics, blackjack offers a near-50/50 chance. But that would take years of training, and in that time you could make a very decent living if you applied yourself.
