yes ,
The Qur'anic message with the People of the Book is a message of peace. Here is God's commands, which say what means:
*{Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of [your] religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice.}* (Al-Mumtahanah 60:8)

how about that aya too :
Muslims believe in One God. The God of the Christians and the Jews.

5:69] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the converts, and the Christians; any of them who (1) believe in GOD and (2) believe in the Last Day, and (3) lead a righteous life, have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

the Qur’an does not teach us to hate them. Muslims are to treat Jews and Christians—indeed, all people—with respect, kindness, and justice while making their closest friends and allies among fellow Muslims.

peace.

Islam do NOT forbid the Muslims from making friends with people of other religions, As long as they respect your religion and treated U well. If they insult your religion, it is your duty to defend your religion. If they destroy your places of worship, U have the right to fight them to the last drop of your blood. Otherwise, it is alright for the Muslims to befriended anyone from any religion. All of us are created by ALLAH s.w.t.for us to get to know each other.

The Quaran tells them not to befriend!

"Believers (Muslims), take neither Jews nor Christians to be your
friends: they are friends with one another.
Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number,
and Allah does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) wrong-doers." - Sura 5:51
