I'm single but had someone stay with me for 7 months, i have no way to prove this, can i still claim head of household?

Generally no. In order to claim head of household, he would have to be a dependant of yours, which means that you would have to contributed more than half of his total support for the Year. In addition, he would have to pass a relationship test, and he could not have made more than $3,300 during the year.

Not unless the person can be claimed as a dependent, which doesn't sound real likely unless there's a lot more information you did not provide. If the person was not related to you, then definitely no, even if you could claim them as a dependent. If they were closely related, then possibly, but there would be a number of additional requirements to meet.

they stayed with you, but did you support them? If you did not provide 51% of the support for this person (assuming non-relative) you cannot get a HoH status. Also, this person would then not be able to claim themself on his taxes, and I don't imagine he/she is going to let you do that.
