My Mom was Baptist. My Dad was Catholic. I grew up Episcopal (in the middle), but never liked it.

In Junior High, I got sucked into attending Young Life, because it was the cool thing to do. I got brainwashed and converted into a born-again christian and stayed that way for 4 years. I read the bible 3-4 times in its entirety.

After that much exposure to what christianity had to offer, I realized it was all bogus and a poison on society since its onset.

I dropped it in High School and have been an Atheist ever since.

I've extensively researched and studied all forms of religion over the years in my search to find the right one, and the only one that makes sense is SCIENCE.

Honestly, it is clear to me that the search for religion was just a passing adolescent phase. It really surprises me that many adults never outgrow it. It really is more childish than passing notes in class.

"was u born an athiest?"

It's really hard to take you seriously when there are three errors in that one sentence alone.

Everyone is born an atheist. Later, you're taught religion. I was raised to be a Roman Catholic, but even in childhood I could see how silly the whole thing is. I gave up religion, Santa clause, and the Easter bunny and became an adult.

My family is christian and although I went to Sunday school and church when I was a kid, I never really believed. So I never really had anything to convert from. I don't think anyone is born an atheist or any other religion. That is something we figure out as we grow and learn.

I was born and baptized Byzantine Catholic, converted to being a Wiccan after many years of studying various religions, then stumbled upon Buddhism while researching the Hindu pantheon and religion. I'm presently, and settled as, a Tibetan Buddhist.

I converted from Southern Baptist, to Buddhist. Quite a switch huh? I tend to analyze things. One day I sat down and used a piece of paper to analyze my faith in god. I've read the bible three times, and my conclusion is that I don't believe what it says anymore. To may things have been disproved by science. I don't know if there is a god, but if there is then there can be more. I'm more happy now then I ever was as a christian. That is why I changed.

I converted from Islam, i converted for way to many reasons to list, but mainly the fact that it teaches that those who don't choose to follow it will go to hell did it for me, but it took alot of studying and comparing for me to also realize that all religions and religious people around the world are basically the same......being a bio major was also a factor....

No one is born into a religion. How can an infant understand the ramifications that come with religious thought? When one develops to the point where they can think for themselves about religion and honestly make up their own mind, that's when they can "officially" be part of a particular religion. This is how it was with me. When I was old enough to think for myself, I realized how empty religious doctrine was and became an atheist.

I was born and raised Catholic and went to church every week for the first 22 years of my life. I have not yet seen anything that will convince me that God is out there.
