NO! I am a parent and I don't leave my kids home alone at all. Especially if they are sick ... I would stay with them or have another family member help out.

A nine year old shouldn't be home alone even if they seem mature enough to stay alone. If I child is left alone, with a fever, there's no way to tell if the fever is going to go up and no way of knowing for sure that anything's been taken to reduce the fever. Once a fever gets to 103-104 it can cause convulsions and brain damage. Take them to a Dr. and if you absolutely have to be away from them, find someone to help take care of them.

um, no. most 9 year olds are not mature enough to be home alone. a 9 year old with a fever should definitely not be home alone. you never know when a fever might spike up to a dangerous level. my 3 year olds fever went from 99 to 104 in two hours time. very scary. fortunately i was there monitoring him and could get him to the doctor immediately.

Definitely not. What if the child has a seizure, induced from the fever? It happens. Or a fire starts in the home? Or someone breaks into the house? Just not smart to leave a child alone.

Ever heard of febrile seizures? They occur when you have a super high fever. A child cannot give himself medicine; therefore, if you leave a nine-yr-old alone, with a fever, the child can get very ill and suffer from seizures. Not a good idea.

What does it matter about the fever??

A nine year old has no business being left home alone in the first place.

In Connecticut it's against the law to leave a child under 12 alone for the whole day. It doesn't matter to me how old the child is. If they are sick, they should have an adult present. That's what parenting is all about.

I can't believe someone actually asked this question. absolutely under no circumstances should you ever leave a nine year old home alone especially with a fever did you know it is illegal to leave anyone under the age of 11 home alone. god forbid anything happen. how would you feel then. you should be ashamed of yourself

Hell no, I don't ******* care how much I make in a day. I will stay at home with my child, until the fever goes away. Because life is more important to me that money or work.
