Did God have a beginning?
Ps. 90:2: ''Before the mountains themselves were born, or you proceeded to bring forth as with labor pains the earth and the productive land, even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God.''
Is that reasonable? Our minds cannot fully comprehend it. But that is not a sound reason for rejecting it. Consider examples: (1) Time. No one can point to a certain moment as the beginning of time. and it is a fact that, even though our lives end, time does not. we do not reject the idea of time because there are aspects of it that we do not fully comprehend. Rather, we regulate our lives by it. (2) Space. astronomers find no beginning or end to space. The farther they probe into the universe, the more there is. They do not reject what the evidence shows; many refer to space as being infinite. The same principle applies to the existence of God.
Which is more reasonable-that the universe is the product of a living, intelligent Creator? or that it must have arisen simply by chance from a nonliving source without intelligent direction? some persons adopt the latter viewpoint because to believe otherwise would mean that they would have to acknowledge the existence of a Creator whose qualities they cannot fully comprehend. But it is well known that scientist do not fully comprehend the functioning of the genes that are within living cells and that determine how these cells will grow. Nor do they fully understand the functioning of the human brain. Yet, who would deny that these exist? should we really expect to understand everything about a Person who is so great that he could bring into existence the universe, with all its intricate design, and stupendous size?

Where did God come from?
We can only partially comprehend the notion of God's existence. To do so, we must use human concepts to speak of God: "without beginning or end"; "eternal"; "infinite", etc. The Bible says that He has always existed: " . . . even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God" (Psalm 90:2). And, "Your throne is established from of old; Thou art from everlasting" (Psalm 93:2). Quite simply, God has no beginning and no end. So, where did God come from? He didn't. He always was.
To us, the notion of time is linear. One second follows the next, one minute is after another. We get older, not younger and we cannot repeat the minutes that have passed us by. We have all seen the time lines on charts: early time is on the left and later time is on the right. We see nations, people's lives, and plans mapped out on straight lines from left to right. We see a beginning and an end. But God is "beyond the chart." He has no beginning or end. He simply has always been.
Also, physics has shown that time is a property that is the result of the existence of matter. Time exists when matter exists. Time has even been called the fourth dimension. But God is not matter. In fact, God created matter. He created the universe. So, time began when God created the universe. Before that, God was simply existing and time had no meaning (except conceptually), no relation to Him. Therefore, to ask where God came from is to ask a question that cannot really be applied to God in the first place. Because time has no meaning with God in relation to who He is, eternity is also not something that can be absolutely related to God. God is even beyond eternity.
Eternity is a term that we finite creatures use to express the concept of something that has no end -- and/or no beginning. Since God has no beginning or end, He has no beginning. This is because He is outside of time.

Human beings created God because we need to believe that we exist for some other reason than mere chance. I sincerely hope we aren't some cosmic accident but I have some serious doubts about it.
If you really want a headache, try thinking about the "beginning of time" and what exactly that means.

God actually didn't need to be created... God is a god... he is eternal both past eternal and future eternal... God is not bound by time... time is a creation just like everything else... with God there is no time... he just exists... we can't understand it because we are limited...
I think the real question should be, "If evolution is true where did the stuff that made the big bang come from?" That to me is the more difficult question.

Great question! -
Per christianity : God is the uncaused first cause. There was nothing before him, no light, no time, and thus there was no before. only when he said let there be light is the the first inkling of time. You would only have 2 time periods, pre god and after god. pre-god was formless void- after god = everything else.
But what created the void? thats the real question i want to know. who / what created nonexsitance.

no one created God is was and is. He has no begining and no end. He's eternal. The alpha and omega. nothing created and nothing can put him to an end. I know its weird to think like that. but thats what the bible says.
may God bless you and everyone you love!

Stephen Hawking's premise is that "guy created GOD to describe the Universe inner workings" so later he concludes that we don't desire GOD (interior the particular case of advent) because of the fact technology has come to a factor the place it factors each and all the mandatory motives. individually i think of his premise is faulty. inspite of the certainty that particular, provided that historical circumstances GOD (or the gods) has been used to describe organic phenomena, that develop into no longer His in basic terms place. a rapid look will teach that historical cultures have been worried too with matters which includes "Love, which ability, objective and suffering" case in point, that are "nicely" left on my own via technology as suggested via the dialogue Panel after the teach. Attributing "theory in GOD" to the lack of training is incorrect too. in accordance to the final pollfrom Nature, 40% of Scientists have self belief interior the Divine. And that hasn't replaced because of the fact the beginning up of the twentieth century. not one of the Scientists interior the dialogue Panel @ "interest" did agree that Stephen Hawking has replied the question: Did GOD created the Universe?. - @Godless: Michio Kaku even went to this point as announcing that the a risk existence of a multiverse is between the justifications why the question won't be able to be ultimately settled. between the topics with faith is that inspite of the certainty that contemporary Theology do no longer conceive GOD as this "great Being with great Powers" that folk want to argue against, it has did no longer defined it to the lots. technology talks approximately dark potential and dark rely which whilst won't be able to be detected nonetheless in accordance to scientists calculations they might desire to exist to describe the functioning of the Universe. Theology has concluded that Mankind has too recognized the existence of GOD contained in direction of the result that He has on our lives. Stephen Hawking makes use of Quantum Physics to describe how the unique "infinitely dense" particle might have basically got here into existence. yet for a particle that small to take attributes that is going to might desire to be suggested. In "contained in direction of the Wormhole" that is suggested the assumption of a "Cosmic awareness". It develop into additionally suggested via the Panel that Stephen Hawking stopped and adjusted direction appropriate until now having to invite "How have been the guidelines of Physics set?". I did trust the remark that interior the "Quest to locate GOD" one won't be able to brush aside each and all the understanding attained via Humanity.
