Hi i am doing a science project. i will have plants divided into three groups with each getting different water. one will have tap water, and the others will have water mixed with sugar. when i am making the sugar water, how do i do it so that i can make different concentrations and know what those are in a percent value?

Get some sugar packets from a restaurant... they may have the weight of the contents on the packet or you might ask your teacher to weigh the contents of one in grams. Many measuring cups have millilter markings. A percent solution is g per 100 ml.

If a sugar packet has 5 g of sugar and you dissolve it in 100 ml of water, you will have a 5% solution.
