You're telling me that god doesn't intervene with anything because of "Free Will."

So we're supposed to believe that he's probably sitting up there somewhere playing his little "FREE WILL" game? And if you believe, you get to go to heaven? That could apply to anything. Also, you've probably made that up to comfort your survival instinct.

not sure how this is a questin but....

The point of prayer is not so much to change God but change you. God is not the one with the screwed up perspective. We are. God is infinite after all. We are finite. I am thinking God knows what is better far more than you do. Can you say that you know every thought of every person who as ever lived or ever will live and know their hearts and what is in the oceans and above the oceans and well, you get the point.

God is doing plenty even in your everyday life. I'm sure he has given you countless signs and saved your life many times. He is healing people, raising people from the dead, causing people who were substance abusers and alcoholics to not have a desire to do those things anymore, giving people dreams and visions. So many people have seen angels and glimpses of the spirit world but this stuff never makes the news. He has answered many of my prayers. Before my grandmother died who was close to 90 two years ago I prayed that she would get in her right mind again and die in her sleep when it was her time. Both of these things happened just before she died. When I have questions to ask him he answers, not out loud but mostly in my head or heart or through something I read in the bible. He is very busy in all our lives if we will just be open to the fact that he is present with us 24/7.

We do have free will. God only intervenes when those who follow Him, ask Him to be a part of their lives.

The belief part is belief that Jesus Christ, is the only begotten Son of God and that He came to the earth, lived and suffered death for you in your place for the forgiveness of your sins. That He now lives and is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

My survival instincts are as good as yours. I didn't make up what Jesus did for me. I believe it because I have a personal relationship with Him.

God does not intervene? Free will rules the events of life?
God does intervene. In fact, he planned exactly what would happen. God knew before time began what I would choose to do in every situation. People of faith pray in faith. The tone of what you write infers that you pray, daring God to do something and waiting to scoff when He does not answer as you wish. If you look to Him to accomplish your will, you will be disappointed more times than not. If you want to accomplish God's will for your life, you will be blessed more than you will be disappointed. Even when the Christian is disappointed, things sort out in time to be for the best anyway.

Your are right in that God will not intervene in your free will. However, when we ask for help or intercede for someone (perhaps they are physically sick) He does listen and He does answer prayers.

Prayer is to draw us nearer to God's heart and His will. It's not an empty check waiting for you to fill it out.

There are three answers to prayers...
1) Yes (when you are praying His will to be done.)
2) No (it's an answer you may not like...but an answer none the less.)
3) Wait for my perfect timing.

Strange that you think Christians have a survival instinct in this regard, but you do not.
We have free will. God joyfully involves himself in our choices when invited/allowed. Free will allows some to choose against God - God allows the choice and is involved in the results that seek to correct the bad choices.
Rolling a ball down the bowling alley gutter is simple. Guiding the ball down the alley without bumping it all the way takes much more effort.

Don't.

It's your life, and you are giving too much thought to the whole thing. It's not worth the trouble.
