I'm sorry, but I don't agree with the idea of a framed print. Most people won't display a print anyway. I guess they could replace that picture with one of their own...

I would display photos of the couple and family throughout the years.

A donation to a charity is an all right idea, but in this politically correct environment, who knows who might be offended for what ever reason?

I would either do nothing, or wrap small golden chocolates in gold tulle or organza and tie with ribbon. You could also print a small program, thanking the guest for attending and being a part of the couple's life through the years.

Why should you give your guests anything? They are there to honor you (?) or the couple you are planning the party for.

If you must give your guests gift, a photo of the couple in a nice frame would be ideal. If money is a factor, the dollar tree has known to sell decent frames.

I am helping plan a 80th birthday. We are giving everyone CDs of music that was popular back them. Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Bobby Vinton, Dean Martin, etc. I think it will be a CD people actually listen to. I'm only 29, and I listen to this CD all the time already. But, they are inexpesive and you can burn whatever music you want.

candles (always a classic) or a newer idea a little card saying how you made a donation to a charity in their name. That is neat and personal and you don't have to say how much the donation is. Any small donation but in each individual's name will make everybody feel good.

Congrats on making it fifty years. Chocolates always works. Wrapped party favors with gold bells tied around. Also you could do small gourmet gift baskets with cheeses and crackers. Small glasses of sparkling cider with your names and anniversary date. There's alot of possibilities.

Things Remembered sells theses little brass bells and engraves them for free with the couples name and date...or you get imprinted ribbon to tie around them. You could also get 2x3 brass frames and put the couples picture in it. A little mesh bag of almond hershey kisses (gold ones) with gold ribbon tied around it. Im full of ideas!!

How about a relatively small, but framed, reproduction of a formal photo from your wedding?
