It's been two and a half months since I broke up with my ex and I feel guilty. Our relationship was great in fact it was scary. Soon I let my parents disapproval of him get to me. I broke up with him through a horrible e-mail message. I made bad generalizations and crazy assumptions. I basically almost insulted his character all because I was afraid of our future. I don't know if I can ever redeem myself in his eyes. Do I have a chance?

Tell him why you did it and that you didn't mean it and then tell him exactly how you feel about him and you do see a future with him. Reassure him it was an accident that you were just trying to make it easier on the both of you. Tell him you never felt that way about him and make sure you tell him how much you love him and that you always have! This reminds me of cruel intentions. If you haven't seen that movie, watch it, part of it is kinda like your situation.

"Scary" is never what you want in any relationship. Your parents love you and want only the best for you. Listen to them....they've been through the dating themselves. Learn from this past relationship and move on. Perhaps the next person will be someone that both you and your parents can be excited about.

It is possible.

But it will never be the same again.
