I just started Lamictal as a monotherapy, and I hope it works. Until recently, I was taking lithium and Lamictal but my doctor said he thought Lamictal alone may work and would be healthier for me long term. I hope it works because the side-effects are much less troublesome. It has been 4 days and so far it is working well. He started increasing my Lamictal when I stopped lithium, so I am a little more tired than usual but I already feel better than I did when I was also taking lithium.

I am the posterchild for LAMICTAL!! I LOVE IT!! Zero side effects and saved my life.

I am only on Lamictal and have been for a year, but now I've noticed I need somtehing else in addition. So I am going on Abilify to deal with my delusions and mania and will add it to the Lamictal

Lamictal is great for depression but semi okay for mania. Other meds like Lithium are better for mania but really, they're terrible as you're aware. Better to stay with Lamictal and then if you are really depressed add an SSRI, or if you are really manic, add an antipsychotic. If just Lamictal works for you, the great. Try it by itself first. You can always email me if you're confused because I know everything about it.. I'm obnoxious.

The starter dose is 25 mg with the aid of lamictal's propensity for a bad rash. So that is titrated up slowly. in accordance to the producer and literature, the backside healing dose is 200 mg for bipolar illness. The healing selection is 200-4 hundred mg. this does not mean that your scientific expert would possibly no longer shop you at a decrease dose, tremendously while you're utilising lamictal alongside with different drugs.

I have bipolar I and have been taking Lamictal for just over two years. I think that the mix of medications I am on now is helping me more than any other combination I've ever been on. I also take Tegretol and Seroquel.

I hope you and your doctor can hit on the right med for you.
