It’s as if they want to proselytize their beliefs which is really strange since they almost universally complain about this activity from people with other beliefs.

Beacuse even though they don't admit it, atheism is a religion. Evolution is a religion as well, not that I would separate the two.

Also, they know that there is a God in their spirit and their chosen faith will not let their conscience rest. Therefore they have to constantly "prove" there is no God in hopes of converting people to their faith and having peace within themselves, which never comes.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Rather than glorifying Yah as God, they glorify faulty science and evolution theories and are convicted of their sins. So they fight, but never find rest for their souls. So they must always fight and take the offensive.

You paint a picture with too large of a brush. I'm atheist and Buddhist and I do NOT proselytize. I've studied religions in great depth and when I can answer a question about another religion, I do so w/o prejudice or sway in favor of Buddhism. Buddhists don't generally proselytize. I also hardly ever to never read (short of the jokes) anybody saying to convert to atheism, nor have I seen a movement to go door to door. A tad bit of realism is in order here...

because this is Yahoo answers. Which means we want answers to questions we have.

it is not our problem you dont' like having your faith questioned. If it is legitimate then you should have no problems answering quesitons. The reason you don't want athiests here is because you are afraid to hear the shortcommings of your religion and the holes that are poked in these creation myths it touts.

religious people don't like having questions asked about thier faith because they are afraid of the answers and are afraid that someone with common sense that is not insecure (religion is a safety blanket) will state the obvious and point out the numerous inconsistencies in your beliefs and you don't like having the "faith" of what you believe in not make sense.

Many people still have issues from parents who may have been overzealous with their religious teachings. Now I am single and enjoying the serenity of not having an annoying spouse who thinks Church is a necessary social skill. I don't hate religion just tired of the fanatics/hypocrites who are borderline sociopaths.

Atheists are no longer unavoidably nihilists. I flow to this dialogue board because of the fact some non secular human beings submit questions that are completely against non-believers. the countless posts are no longer enlightening yet loaded hate "questions" that comprise fake info or are particularly basically prejudiced statements. Non-believer bashing in essence.

Good question. If they want separation so badly-then be separate. Leave us Theists to our beliefs and we'll leave the Atheists to their non-beliefs. I do not judge them, but they sure judge us.

I think the majority of the Atheists are hateful. Why? Sorry I can't answer that, only they can.

I SOOOOO want a nickel for every time this question has been asked! I could retire by now!

The REAL question is, "If you're not a Christian, you MUST be an atheist because nothing else exists, right?" Oooh, the sarcasm...

We wish to lead people toward the truth, so that they may be more effective and successful. Religion may give people warm and fuzzy feelings, but in the overall scheme of things it is a colossal waste of time and effort.
