Many of theses mythical creatures are mentioned in many cultures' religion and mythology, maybe through time people killed all of them because they posed a threat. Maybe Dragons was actually just Dinosaurs and Giants just a different specie of humanoids etc. Unicorns? Fairies? Maybe they did actually exist or maybe they do just like Gods are suppose to. If they didn't why was the ancient peoples myths so similar and where did they get all these creative ideas?

The ancient Celts explained these creatures as beings that primarily existed in another world. They described these worlds as "mist" and that sometimes the mist would overlap, and then separate again, bringing beings from this world in contact with beings from another world. There still are "fairy" sightings today, just as there are ghost sighting. what's especially interesting is that specific areas seem to have their own unique type of fairy's. I'm not sure what the true explanation is, but it is a fascinating phenomenon, that apparently has been experienced by people throughout centuries.

It is a certainty. In china, apocatheries carry ground 'dragon bones'. After gaining the man's trust, an archaeologist followed him to his source. Sure enough, it was a fossil bed. I have also seen the skeletons of giants. Unicorns? Today we call them rhinos. Fairies? Leprechauns? Those sound a LOT like UFO aliens...

I have also heard that some ancient cultures found dinosaur bones in the ground, but sonce they didn't look like anything they recognized, they made it into more familiar shapes, like people. They just ended up to be giant people or cyclopses. They had evidence right in front of them, or at least evidence enough for them.

The aspect that fascinates me is the commonality of the stories across cultures, continents and people groups.

Dinosaurs, floods, a guy in a boat saving animals. It makes for fascinating study.
