People tend to talk out of the side of their mouth to one degree or another - some, grotesquely so. Is this a documented medical phenomenon? Is there treatment available?

I would see a speech thrapist first, then a neurosurgeon or an oral surgeon. Some large medical centers have multi-discipline clinics that deal with such problems. That would be my first choice.

Your first stop should be an ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor) to determine if there is a medical reason for it, and to get the right treatment. He/she can refer you to a speech pathologist at the appropriate time.

It's called Nancipolosiism. It is incurable. It only gets worse with exposure to administravium.

Sorry -- I couldn't pass on that. Try torticollis as a true mechanical etiology.
