No lobster night! No crab legs! No filet mignon! and they asked me to join the crown and anchor society.... You know when the diet desserts are better than tha fattening ones there is a problem! Has anybody had a similar cheap arsed cruise happen lately or is it just this lines?

Royal Caribbean is the monster. Also they only had kaoreoke from 9pm till 10:30 and since I had the late seating for dinner by the time we got there the roster was already over booked to sing next. They lack in plan, in recreation and they lacked in caring about it.

It was a short cruise from L A to san diego back to Catalina then down to ensenada and home. I have been on the same cruise with the fun ship carnival and they are twenty times better with all the amenities adn 24 hour self serve soft serve ice cream and 24 hour pizza, two guys making custom omelets for breakfasts such a difference. I don't get it when peolple put down Carnival either???

No, RCCL is not the monster but I am very sorry you had such a bad time. I've been on 14 cruises with 5 different cruiselines and never had a washout when it comes to cruising.

I think the main problem lies with the logistics of a 3-4 night cruise. Bahamas from Florida or 4-5 night Mexi from any gulf coast state can have the same problems. It is a rough itinerary on the crew, (cabin stewards, cooks, maintenance, etc..) and they can get tired. Should this excuse the treatment you received when you spent your vacation dollars...No but if you take a longer cruise, even on RCCL, I think you will find it pleasurable, relaxing and yeah...go ahead....ask for 2 lobsters with a side of beef wellington! I've done it! :-)

Take care,

=CD=

The worst part is having to get off the ship at the end of the cruise!! Just about everything else is the best. Before a first cruise, you need to do some research. See the answer to a question a few up from yours.

I am terribly sorry your experience was so poor. I'm really shocked. I've never had a cruise that didnt have lobster and filet mignon (or at least beef wellington). I have also never heard anything bad about Royal Carib from anyone I know who actually went on one (not including people on here cause I dont KNOW them).

However, I too have taken a horrible cheap arsed cruise. NCL. I paid more for my NCL cabin than I had for other cabins on other cruiselines I was the Titanic's 3rd class. The carpet ended (yes as in NO CARPET) before we got to our door. We had to pass through the storage area to get to our cabin. I could touch both sides of the wall and if my sister opened the door to the bathroom it took up the whole cabin. I had to get back on the bed so that the door could be opened. The food was miserable and I always had to order about 7 courses and 2 entrees to remotely get enough food (and I'm a small girl). and the service was so rude. they took up the buffet while you were in line. the steward only came by once so I had to go request towels. On ship, found out others had paid the same price for their cabin and they had balcony suites! Information said they had the same price for all the cabins and it's just luck. Yeah I warn everyone about taking an NCL cruise. But while on the ship, many people who had taken more than 10 cruises were saying how RC was sooo much better and how this cruise line couldnt begin to compare.

I'm shocked you had such a bad experience. But yes some cruiselines are doing a couple cheap cruise ships where they put those that they probably should fire. I'd probably give cruising another chance with Princess or even a RC bigger ship like the Freedom of the Seas.

You must have went on a short cruise??? Name of ship? if you go on a 3-4 night cruise there is no lobster night, that is usallly for the 2nd formal night. Also Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity.

Our RCCL transatlantic in November was just as you described. The food was awful. Well, maybe not that awful since I still gained 5 lbs. in the 18 days we were aboard. We've been on more than 20 cruises and that was the only one in which the kitchen needed a new captain.

I have cruised on RC many times and we always had great food. One cruise I went on with them they brought me two lobster tails.

RC and Celebrity are now owned by the same company. I have been on a Celebrity ship and it was great too. Service and food on both should be about the same.

You cruised on Royal Caribbean. That was your problem. You should have chosen Celebrity.

Celebrity is excellent for food and service. Their prices are about the same as Royal Caribbean.

Nope. I had the greatest vacation on my cruise. Maybe you should try an upscale cruise line next time.
