you are exactly right! it is so rude to dump someone text, it means he didn't even have the courage to say it to your face. this may be because he was scared of hurting you, but this way hurts even more, doesn't it? you're better off w/o him!

Yes, dumping someone in a text message shows immaturity (spchk). You can tell how mature a person is by their social skills. If they are man or woman enough, than they will tell you to your face in a tactfull manner.

Dumping people by text's isnt a reflexion on you, it just shows his own immaturity and his idea of "the easy way." I'd be annoyed at that too, there's never a reason to do it that way, on the upside, atleast you found how immature he was now.

It's not a crime, but anyone who cannot do these things face-to-face is not worth your time in the first place.
I was once proposed to over the phone! SO glad I declined!

There are circumstances where it is justified. My ex cheated on me, then stood me up when I asked to meet me for a talk and put her phone on voicemail-so I dumped her by text as there was little other option.

But as a general rule doing it by text is bad, very very bad.

All I know is it sucks to dump over a note or a text message and all I know is that sometimes it is easier to dump that way and maybe they done it so you didnt see him cry maybe he didnt want to dump you.

No crime, but probably rude and immature in the extreme.

I say "probably" because we've only heard your side of the story and don't know what else happened. We don't know how old you guys are or how serious you were. We don't know if he already tried to say good-bye but got screamed at, don't know if you stood him up, etc etc.

He didnt give you a chance to finalise things by asking important questions

It is very inconsiderate, he is just a wimp so you had a lucky escape I would say

I think this shows how much of a b@st@rd he is and a coward for not telling you to your face. Of course now you need to get over him and move on to someone better. good luck
