I'm looking for something not as formal as Fiance, or intended, and not as cheesy sounding as boyfriend.

Something that implys more then JUST friends, but not lame or a sound of hook line and sinker.

Help & thoughts, please?

Okay. We're not engaged.

I was giving an example of formality.

If you're engaged, it's called a fiance.
If you're friends, you're friends.
If you're dating, you're a date.

My bf and I have been lovers for better than 3 years and when he introduces me as his "friend", I cringe. Are you engaged? The only other word I can think of is "betrothed"...I rather like it...it's very oldy-worldy and some people may not even know what it means. A bit of a mystery for them to figure out, huh?

Beau, Lover, Mate, Special One, My Man, My Woman, Thats my Chick.

Tons of things, it depends on how creative you are with that special someone.

Do you have someone whom you "fancy"?

Fancy is used a lot in the British speak.

I like using that word.
