Good question. Iran has actually been quite reconciliatory since the US invasion. They have been attempting to stabilise the region and have offered all Iraqis the hospitality of Iran. The countries that border Iraq have been having meetings together .I am not sure what they decide, but this clearly annoys the US. When Iran was making progress in reaching out to the people in Iraq, the stories started to emerge from Israel that Iran was a threat. This was followed up by US saying Iran was a threat. Funny that the UN nuclear inspections could only confirm that Iran was in fact building a nuclear power station. US has been trying for the last few years to paint Iran as a rogue state. Of course Iran has a crucial role to play. The US should take a back seat now. It's been there over 5 years and makes little progress other than to keep awarding US companies the rights to take Iraq's resources. Rice has only a couple months left. If I were Iraq - I wouldn't agree anything with Rice. Wait and see if there's a new administration who might be withdrawing sooner.

Are you a soldier? I didn't think so. So stop complaining about what you don't know about. My husband is a soldier and fights for your freedom every day of his life. FYI, banks and the rich are part of the US, so how is protecting these things NOT protecting the US???

War is the most profitable business. It is the soldier's duty to protect this business.

1. A link would support what you're saying.

2. Your animus toward "the rich" is juvenile. Do "the rich" not also have rights? When is the last time a poor person gave you a job?

So, what happened in the late 1920's? People rushed banks, and demanded money they didn't have, causing an economic collapse, riots, and general unrest. Now. Why are we having soldiers guard banks?

That's why I laugh when brainwashed fools say the troops are protecting our freedom. Freedom of what? Starting a war with another country for unfounded reasons is not protecting me. If anything, it's putting me at greater risk. The troops on the other hand are protecting Bush's oil buddies who are making a killing on oil profits because of the middle east instability Bush has agitated even more.

Be careful. The black helicopters are circling your neighborhood even as I type this. And its not paranoia if you say it isn't!
