both are companions are at rainbow bridge its a beautifull field were our beloved pets can run and play with others just outtside hevens gates you dog will be very happy there and may even meet glenn (my dog) he will run and jump and have the time of his life and never run out of breath but one daay he will stop and bolt through the field were he will eventually meet you were u 2 can walk through hevens gates together....

I'm really sorry about your loss. I've been there and I know what it feels like. The fact that you can't stop crying is normal. There's nothing that anyone can do or say to comfort you right now. Allow yourself to cry as long as you need. Time does heal but things are never the same.
You did the right thing for your dog. I can only imagine how hard it was for you,but Peanut is in a better place now.
I wish you all the best. Think that maybe somewhere at your local shelter there might be a "Peanut" who needs a loving home and a great owner like you ! Good luck !

A lady at my work had to have her cat put down over the weekend and she received a really lovely poem called "A Pet's Prayer" from the vet. I looked on the Internet for the author but can't seem to find who wrote it. A Pet's Prayer If it should be that I grow frail and weak And pain should keep me from my sleep Then, you must do what must be done For this, the last battle, can't be won. Don't let grief stay your hand, For this day, more than the rest, Your love and friendship stand the test. We've had so many happy years, What is to come can hold no fear. You'd not want me to suffer, so When the time comes, please let me go. Take me where my needs they'll tend, Only, stay with me to the end And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will see it is a kindness you do for me Although my tail its last has waved From pain and suffering I've been saved. Don't grieve it should be you who this thing decides to do. We've been so close, we two, these years, Don’t let your heart hold any tears. Smile, For We Walked Together For A While

So sorry to hear that!! They are like family members, a few years ago our mini-sheltie -Baxter- got out of the yard and was hit by a car. He came back to the door as if nothing happened and laid down by the back door and died before we even figured out what happened. We all mourned for a long time after that. It will take awhile to get over, I am sorry to say but I think it was 3 weeks before I could come home and realize he wasn't going to meet us at the back door. Just keep remembering he is no longer suffering. Again I am sorry for your loss and god bless little peanut.

You choked me up reading that. Animals do become like family to us. That's why its so hard to have them go. You did the right thing. Peanut is probably much happier ow and running around and playing just like a puppy in a large feild with everything that a dog could dream about. I hope that you will always remember him as the best dog ever and I know that he will think as you as his wonderful Mama.

I had to euthanzie a very darling kitty three years ago because his mammary cancer had metastized to his lungs and he could no longer breathe comfortably even though fluid was drained off a couple of times.
You did the right thing for Peanut. You can get some Ignatia 30C from a health foods store to alleviate your grief. Take just one dose. You will always be sad about the loss of your beloved dog friend and the Ignatia will lift the heavy stone of grief from your heart and enable you to relive the happy moments you shared with your dog without pain.

My heart goes out to you and Peanut (great name!) and I know how you feel.
Don't worry about crying; it's normal to grieve for a dog or cat the same as for a human. Let the crying run it's course. It's good for the soul, and a sign that you loved your friend very much.
When my dog Odus died, and before that my cat Momzigaa (she had been with me 17 years) I had them cremated, and I have their ashes in containers that sit on top of my desk, so in a way they'll always be with me.
Bless you.

I am sorry to hear that, at least you got to say goodbye, sometimes they go and you don't get a chance for that last hug.
When my Rottie died suddenly one night, I got out all the pictures I had of him and sat on my bed and cried all day, then the next day I put them away and continued with life. I allowed myself one day of total dispear then tried to deal with it. Still 2 years later I start to think of him and cry, you do miss them terribly but it gets easier (though I do have tears at the moment).
You did the right thing opting for euthanasia - we put down our cavalier last year who had congestive heart failure and she looked soo peaceful not struggling for air. I have seen people take it too far and left them to die and its terrible absolutely heart breaking! You will never forget yourpoodle but in time it will be easier.

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm crying right now with you. *hugs*
It's not unusual to be so upset; our pets are a huge part of our lives, and it's so heartbreaking to have to let go of them. But you're right, Peanut won't be struggling anymore, he's breathing easier, and he's waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so sorry to hear about your poodle. The poor little guy was suffering. You did the right thing. Maybe, after a little time has passed, you can consider getting another friend to love and who will love you. You would be surprised how much it helps.
