Since your liver doesnt stop growing until you are 24, it is more succeptable to failure if you drink at a younger age. Teenagers are also more immature than adults... so when they drink, they often do more harful things while drunk. It may be "cool" but it isnt always safe.

The same as humans at any age: the buzz is caused by the alcohol getting trapped into brain cells, which leaves no room for the oxygen and thus killing the cell. This makes us sleepy, dizzy, and so on, and also has the mood altering effect of lowering inhibitions. The difference with teens is that (most of them) have little experience in drinking, and experience is important in building up a tolerance.
Tolerance enables a person to drink more and be affected less, or being able to better control the effects. Tolerance is built up with experience, and is a product of natural factors: body mass and weight, how much you had to eat, age, gender (men generally have higher tolerance than women), and so on.

The problem with teen drinking is that they don't realize how stupid they look. But hey, if you're going to have a drink, it's better to get stinking drunk and learn to lay off it, or to control it. Drinking alcohol isn't the same as being an alcoholic, so just because a young person drinks at parties, doesn't mean they're headed down a bad path. Parents and friends should worry if a teen is drinking alone, or finds an escape in alcohol. In addition, alcohol consumption can cause brain damage--two or more alcoholic drinks a day for a grown man can cause real damage.

genereally the same way it affects adults EXCEPT...

A higher metabolism results in faster digestion and faster drunkness.. being young also means you may not have enough knowlege in the area to know When is when and which types affect you the most.

You also at young ages are less likely to have HIGHLY trustworthy friends that KNOW you. I mean aren't they getting wasted too..so how are they gonna stop so-and-so from painting your face like a clown?

Ummm
Being a teenager, alcohol doesn't really affect me as much except I go hyper (and do stupid things like attempting backflips on a trampoline, at midnight, in pitch dark), but I've seen some of my friends and they have it even worse...

Gets them into a whole lot of trouble, might cause them to do something that they would spend the rest of their lives regretting.
