For the most part, suicides are mostly contributed to mental illness and struggle to get through every day, it's a disease and they deserve better than to go to "hell". Even though I don't believe in god it horrifies me that people believe this. The people so quick to judge have obviously never lived with a crippling mental illness every day of their lives, where's "god" when these people need them?
this is to the person who said god doesnt inflict mental illness, its due to sin. if there is a god, he DOES inflict mental illness on people. I was diagnosed with rapid cyclocemia at age 10, and as bipolar at 17. what sins could a ten year old possibly commit to deserve mental illness?

First, let's get this straight.....the concept of Hell that we're all so familiar with....that is the fire, torturous, pit....is just a made up story created by some religious leaders to scare the public into their brands of religion. This fiery Hell is a misinterpretation of the Bible. In actuality, Hell is just the common grave of mankind.
The word, Hell, comes from an old Germanic word, Hoelle, which is to refer to the grave. The Bible talks about how death is the price you pay for your sins, no more. Also, there are biblical cases were Jesus resurrected people during his time on Earth, such as Lazarus. When Lazarus was resurrected, he did'nt talk about going to a heaven or seeing some kind of hell. He had no memories of anything. In Revelations, our only hope to life after death is through the resurrection. While in death, we will have no feelings, no memories, no concept of time passing. It will be like we don't exist. Those that are not resurrected are non existent forever.
Now Revelation talks about the Lake of fire. What is the Lake of fire? Read those scriptures. It is promised that Satan and Death will be thrown in the Lake of fire to be destroyed. How the heck do you throw away death? This is a metaphor showing that Satan and the ways of dying will be destroyed, with fire as the metaphor, being that fire destroys completely.

I know it's nonsense. Anyone who tries to commit suicide is mentally ill. We have a kind of mental block that won't let us harm ourselves. Like in a fight sometimes people don't realise they're hurt until it's all over because their anger has caused temporary insanity. Anyone who tries to take their life needs to be helped not condemned. Depression is probably more deadly than cancer, i've been there and it isn't pretty! The thing is most people don't know that they are depressed and don't have the energy to get the help they need. People would have sympathy for a cancer patient, would say how their death was a terrible shame. Why not for suicide victims? They were just killed by a different type of disease.

I don't see how Killing yourself would send you to hell. I do believe suicide is the cowards way out. Having had those thoughts before, and being clinically depressed before, I understand more than anyone, but I'm still here, and very happy now, with no more thoughts of doing something like that. But being in that much pain, and just wanting an end to it, I don't see how you would go to hell for it, and I've never heard it said before (except by people who don't know what they are talking about) that when you kill yourself you go to hell. I hope that helped. Have an awesome day!!! :)

I've heard differing viewpoints on this. Some say all suicides are cursed. Some say
people with depression are forgiven, while those who are running away from life
are not.
A person commiting suicide is in effect wanting to "cease to exist". This may also
carry over on to the spiritul level resulting in one ending up in a state of spiritual
unawareness. But I would think what happens depends more on the individual,
and what he or she is, and thinks.

to muslims who believe in suicide bombing...go back and study your deen! It is NOT jihad. Killing yourself for any means will give you an express ticket to hell. Somewhere you have missed the point of Islam, so go back and start at ground zero and leave all the outside influences out of your mind. Find the truth before you ruin your life, in this world and the hereafter, your family's life and the countless innocent people's lives. Life is so short just make the best of it while you are here. We will all be dying before we are ready anyway. Oh and it is against the laws of Islam and any other religion to claim to be gay, homosexual, bisexual etc.

I think that the matter is the same between us and God, as it is for the suicide and God. It's between them. I do not know what took place that would cause a person to kill themselves. I only know what I went through when I was that way. Every case is different in some way I suppose. But I know that God says what is true, and that He will not abandon us if we are trusting Him.
Bottome line: It's between God and that particular person.

God does not inflict mental illness on people, sin does. God does not send people to hell. Refusal to live according to God's word and accept Jesus as their personal Savior does. Stop blaming God for what sin and satan does to people.

I am SICK and TIRED of people blaming God for sin. SATAN has gotten control of the world because of sin. HUMANS are NOT helpless when it comes to sin. Why are so many people saying that it is God's fault when something bad happens? Stop being lazy and saying you have no control over your life. If that were true we wouldn't have a judgement day!!

Most of what you hear people say on that subject is of their own opinion. YOU are right God is merciful and yes it is an illness and no one is held accountable for being sick. Where the difference lies is having or doing something and knowing better, rather than one who is in bondage or trapped.
