Anything bigger than a twin... My boyfriend and I fight over space everynight!
We just moved in together about 2 months ago & we decided it's time to buy a bed.

Maybe even one of those pull out futons? That would save space.

Look at Ikea. They are having a sale on some of their less expensive beds. Consider buying one of their mattresses too. No mattress new is ever wholly inexpensive. Its best to spend your money on a mattress and less on your bedstead. Futon pull outs are ok if they are well made. The matresses however go to strictly firm, going to lumpy. Not awful for short time but as your only bed... But your young and in love so it won't matter much.

I'd be hesitant to buy a used mattress - bedbugs, dustmites, brown recluse spiders - who knows what's lurking there? Buy the best new one you can afford - you'll get your money's worth - and sleep better at night. Then, if the relationship continues, you can buy a better bed later. (Say that 3 times fast!)

You don't want a futon for your primary bed.... they suck, you'll hate it!

Try craigslist if you are looking to buy newer mattresses for a good price.

By Bed I am guessing you mean mattress or do you mean bed frame, headboard, footboard side rails etc.
