If an undercover cop were to wear a uniform, s/he wouldn't BE undercover.

Where they are is irrelevant.

Ok James I have to answer this in order to get the points. Cops would not be undercover if they wear uniforms. Glad you got off the ambulance issues. I guess we can expect more non-sensical questions about "Undercovers".

Say Jim, did you think about your question before posting it ? If a guy is wearing a uniform, he sure can't be undercover. Do you think that we could send one of our top spies into Russia wearing a US army officer's uniform?

Flushing Queens? If they have a uniform, then they are not undercovers. Either that or they are decoys for people that actually are. Plainclothes Detectives a.k.a. "Undercovers" wear plainclothes, so you can't distinguish them from normal people in stakeouts, or raids...etc
