how long after being exposed to an illness will it take for symptoms to develop if youve caught it yourself

i was babysitting and the little kid woke up w/ the flu. i feel fine now and washed my hands and took an airborne and have been drinking lots of water...

The symptoms depend on the disease. Like AIDS for example takes 6 months to even show signs of HIV and long after that will you actually have the virus. Now the incubation period for many viruses are about 3-4 days on average so I would go with that.
