You get a cat carrier to put her in and take her to the vet and have her spayed. My cat is extremely shy and lets no one hold her but me, but I got her spayed. The vets can handle your cat just fine and getting her spayed is the healthiest thing for her. And keeping her is healthy for YOU. Tell your parents that. Pets relieve stress and provide companionship through difficult times. Your cat has bonded with you. It would be very cruel to both of you to get rid of her. Just get her spayed. It's simple and quick and you won't have to worry about any more kittens.

You need to get her fixed. If you are the only one who can touch her then you need to grab her and put her in a crate then take her to the vet. We have dealt with wild cats before (i was sent to the ER because of one) so yes she might go crazy but even if she is we can gas her down in a box that is used mainly for mean cats and little dogs, so she doesnt stress out as much and then do the surgery. We use the same gas anesthesia to gas her down in the box as we do during the surgery. once she wakes up she may be a little fiesty but I would definitely spay her. She can still be an outdoor cat but I'm sure your parents just dont want more litters of kittens. spaying her would be the best option for her and if you want to keep her then thats what you should do. Trust me the vets and techs can handle the cat once it is there and it will probably be groggy most of the time it stays there anyway. Take her in. I hope this helps and good luck. Get her spayed - there's no reason not to.

If you cannot catch the cat and put her into a cat carrier to take her to the vet, you can rent a live trap from the Humane Society (there's a small fee that you get back when you return the trap) or Animal Control, and trap your cat overnight.

When you take the cat in to the vet, they will need to tranquilize her and they will anesthetize her for the surgery anyway. There should be no problem about her "going crazy" in the vet's office after being tranquilized / anesthetized.

You should definitely consider this a much better alternative than her keeping on putting more unwanted feral cats into this world! And if you truly love this cat, it's worth the trouble.

Just because she will only let you hold her doesn't mean she will go crazy in the vet's office. Trust me- we took our cat to the vet's before when he was an unsociable, outside cat. When we took him, we warned the vet that he might be a little crazy. To our complete shock, he was perfectly behaved.

The cat will not go crazy at the vet surgery, I am a vet nurse and have delt with many stray cats and as long as we are warned prior to them arriving that they will be super scared we will be prepared. She will be given a premed soon after arrival which will relax her and she willbecome quite sleepy ad this makes it easier for us to deal with.
Believe me vets and vet nurses are use to dealling with animals that are going crazy and I have never in 11 years met a cat that we couldn't get an anaesthetic into.
As long as you can get her to the vet, they will be able to desex her.
Surely it is a small amount of money to pay for your parents to see you happy with your furry friend.

I agree with the get a cat carrier answer.

not knowing where you live, try calling the humane society in your area and see if they can recomend a low cast vet (it sounds like you might have problems getting your parents to pay a lot of money on your pet)

good luck

Vets are used to cats misbehaving in the clinic. Bring her to the vet and have her spayed ASAP! Getting rid of her is a cop out.

we have 3 cats at my house. 2 are nice and one of them is pure evil. whenever we need to take her to the vet, the vet gives us a pill to give the cat. it is a tranquilizer. it really relaxes the cat. just talk to the vet and let them know the situation.

getting her spayed is the kindest thing you could do for her. a little stress now is preferable to many litters of unwanted feral kittens. get her crated and take her to the vet, they'll know how to handle her with the most minimal amount of stress. contact your local humane society for reduced rate spaying or related program in your area. good luck

You NEEEEEEED TO GET HER SPAYED!!!!!!!

Your parents are right to want to get her spayed ...NOT get rid of her. If you are the only one who she allows to hold her YOU take her!!!!! She will be FINE! Since she's an oudoor cat, her life is more in danger with her being able to breed then not!! If you get her spayed will be A LOT safer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
