Ice Age?
Between every ice age was a warming period, then the next ice age arrived. Aren't we in a warming period? Air polution adds to it. When the sky remains covered with pollution from air planes or moisture from melting ice caps, then the heat is foirst trapped until the sun rays cannot heat the earth so much and it must start to cool: the next ice age arrives.

Those flying across the Alps in the late 60s saw them covered with "eternal" ice and snow! Then, years later, the melting of the ice caps was all too obvious! Some massiv change certainly had happened.

We cannot do much about the natural cycle of the ice ages, but we can do something about air pollution - if we care about life of all on earth. We have the technique and the knowledge to do better.

Keep warm.

Many reputable scientists in the late 60's & early 70's were predicting a new ice age. Now, many reputable scientists are predicting dire consequences from global warming. I think I'll just wait another 35 years and see what they're saying then.

I have not heard anyone claim that, nor can I think of a reason why anyone would. It will not be possible to designate any specific year as the beginning of the next ice age -- the climate changes too slowly.

no, an ice age starts by global warming witch results in the ocean currents stopping due to warmer, less dense fresh water from the ice caps unable to sink.the ice caps are then able to expand.
