All hair dye fades somewhat. I dyed my hair once and hated the colour. The cosmetologist said to use a very strong shampoo. I think I settled on Head and Shoulders. Someone else suggested using Tide, but I was afraid to use it on my hair. I also used some rinses to help tone the severity of the colour. Maybe some temporary red high lites will help.

Just went through this a couple weeks ago with a color called dark auburn ( looks good on the box, but on me looked like orange crayon on black construction paper. The "color specialists" at Clairol said to use 'Born Blonde" 2 oz color, 2 oz developer, 2 oz shampoo. (no activator!) The next day I called back to find out if I should do it wet or dry and they said they wouldn't recommend doing it at all. Whatever. I did it anyway, the first time on wet hair for 15 minutes with only slight toning down and the second time for 30 on dry hair, which brought it down enough to use a bright auburn shade over it so that now I have a color I can live with - not to horribly damaged looking either, esp. if I use a shine spray during blow drying. good luck!

It depends on the color of your hair color before this. The darker your hair color is, the more pigment there is, and the pigment is what holds the color. The lighter your recent hair color was, the more of a chance you have of the color fading. Otherwise get it professionally bleached. NEVER bleach it yourself, Bleaching kills your hair no matter what and professionals know how to make it as healthy as possible. Or, if you want to, you can go to a salon and ask to get the color stripped out.

no there isn't a shampoo that does that, but you can go and have a colourist strip it, or what you can do is get highlights that will give it some pizazz, not make it look so black! ALL colour fades -- not to worry. next time, stay with the dark browns. good luck to you.

In time it will fade. You can use a clarifying shampoo to cleanse it very deeply and try to get it to fade faster. You can wash your hair more than 1 time per day to help it fade as well.

black is a very strong color and can sometimes be hard to bleach out even with cosmetology bleach. but i would say trying to pleach the color would at least lighten it,. you may want to try a lightner first. it will take the black edge off

When I didn't like my hair color, I went and dyed it closest to my natural color. Then I didn't mess with it until it all grew out.
