Carnations are ideal for dying any color you desire and they smell nice too. If you get a florist to do it tell them what color you want them. If you do it yourself just put the flowers in water mixed with blue food coloring for about 48 hours before the wedding. Almost any white flower can be dyed by this process. Carnations are very cheap though and they will also give the impression of an island flower. Lavender or pink would look nice too.
Just to clarify: Don't put the whole flower in the blue water just the stems and as the flower drinks it will deposit the blue dye in the bloom.

Eustoma--sometimes called Lisianthus, or prairie Gentian. these flowers are annuals, you buy them at the nursery in packs of 4 or 6 as bedding plants. They come in blue, lilac, pink, white, and yellow. they are often mistaken for roses because they look exactly like roses, especially when they are not fully open. these flowers will last about 4 times as long as roses when cut; they are one of the absolute best cut flowers you can grow.
they have long sturdy stems, and are beautiful in bud or in full bloom. I grow these every year and without fail, everyone remarks on their beauty and mistakes them for blue roses.

they come in a few different varieties ranging in height from 6" to 18". the tall ones have the best flowers. the plants themselves are rather bare and narrow, so the taller ones may need to be supported from the wind.they are quite difficult to grow from seed so its best to buy the bedding plants. they need a lot of sun to bloom prolifically. each plant will produce between 4 to 10 flowers.

you should be able to buy the 4 or 6 plant packs for about $1.75 - $2.50 depending on where you shop.

unfortunately, they will not begin to bloom prolifically until july (late june at the earliest) . plant them in good potting soil and lots of sun and water and fertilize regularily to make sure they bloom as quickly as possible.

if you plant about 18 of these plants--you'll have all the flowers you need for boquet and for corsages and buttoniers.Total cost would be about 10 dollars.

if you google them, you may be able to find some pictures.

I just googled the word "eustoma" in google images and theres lots of great pics to give you a real idea of their beauty.

they come in double and single--the doubles are the most beautiful and most resemble roses.
