Check in the folds of your batress and sheets, they typically don't live INSIDE the bedding, rather, in the places they are not likley to be found. Also, check for holes in your matress, where they may have gotten in. Bedbugs are flat little black bugs that look similar to a dark sesame seed, they pose no huge risk of infection, but you do not want the problem to get out of hand or more severe.

you will have small red bumps (like mosquito bites, but shouldn't itch) on your skin. look at your bed frame and mattress very closely for small black dots- like as small as a pen dot--- these are the excrements.
check in creases of the mattress and parts of the headboard, frame, or foot board that might have a crack or space... thats where the bed bugs live. if you have them, you will see the small black dots. you have to look very closely with good light.

Check your sheets for blood- if bed bugs are biting, they'll leave blood specks.
